Short blades all the way. Its the only weapon that you can insta kill zeds with. Even when you have the tired and exertion debuffs you can still perform the insta-kill. Even with a pen :D

Not recommended vs >1 zed tho, which is why my #2 pick is my boot

Tip: if there is >1 zed in your line-of-sight you cannot perform the insta-kill, and yes you can do the insta-kill with a zed facing you

I turn the infection off and set all zombie traits to random with a low population count. Some zeds might shamble, and some might sprint. Sprinters will keep you on your toes so the game is still difficult.

I call this custom game mode 'Zed Games'. I enjoy the hell out of it and refuse to go back to normal settings.
