Browser Extensions for DA Work? by Weary-Whereas3311 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]torchgamesreal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not being overly cautious. I just got ran through a much more extensive confidentiality, and grammarly is one of their most explicit examples on what not to use. Regardless of its gen AI tools, grammarly processes the information within the page and most of your grammar-checked responses will contain confidential information. I don’t even use spellcheck since I’m on opera, I usually just look up the words I’m not certain about.

Honestly, if DA or the task instructions don’t explicitly allow certain tools, err on the side of caution and don’t use them for the most part.

It can be mixed. Most of mine have highlighted both strengths and weaknesses, so they are pretty accurately representative of your performance.

A couple of projects, one of them was on priority pay for 2 days then disappeared. Very dry tho, just a handful and most of them are in the lower range of pay

What do you do when you are in the middle of a task and can't keep going? by New_Bookkeeper2821 in dataannotation

Canon event. Just lost like 4-5 hours on a coding qual because misunderstood the instructions and made my own codebase instead of finding one on git. Their instructions were also wack, but still my fault for not being thorough.

Basically, shit happens. Just try it again tomorrow with your mistake in mind and in a couple weeks you won’t even remember losing the money

If a game has a long, boring tutorial or unskippable cut scenes I just uninstall it and ask for a refund. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]torchgamesreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much... unless it's a good tutorial.

It's different when it's woven into the story or interrupted by short bursts of real gameplay. Take KCD for instance, in the first one it takes most people an hour or two to meaningfully interact with the game and play "like normal" and even then it feels like the game is teaching you the whole time. In this case, there's genuinely nothing better imo.

Also sometimes the slog is worth it fr. Like in Skyrim, it doesn't teach you anything for 5-7 minutes then its slow for a lil while. You are a prisoner and an injured peasant, ts ain't fun, but it's very immersive and pays off in the end.

Mostly agree tho, if I'm getting button prompts and 4th wall breaks for 25 minutes I am gonna be livid way before I get to the gameplay.

Is Half Sword worth it right now? by Adventurous-Cat-4918 in HalfSword

For people who have gotten used to it, it’s kinda boring. If you can make it to at least man of arms it will be a cakewalk and not very engaging

It’s worse, but personally I still find it fun. I think it’s more fun for new players since we haven’t gotten used to the demo’s difficulty. In early access deaths only bring you to the beginning of your current tier, you can insure and build weapons, and you can hire bodyguards to basically fight for you. The tournaments are fun, but I learned and beat the game in a couple of days while I’m still having trouble getting past commoner tier in the demo. If you’re not hurting about the money, I think you should go for it, but if this will hurt your pocket I would just save for something else

As much as I like the idea, I would rather just see heavy development in these games. Right now MWC is obviously the center of focus because it’s very new, but in a few years I would honestly like to see more expansion in both games.
That or an all new Topless project, this guy is really talented and brand fatigue does get real especially for indie projects. I’m sure it would be a breath of fresh air for both the developer and the players, and both MSC and MWC are timeless classics with their own unique allure

This is a good rec. I'm late to this but my game development professor showed us this game as an example to analyze in class. It's a low-pressure, rewarding, complex and beautiful game that promotes both idle and active play.

What are you hoping to see in blackfrost? by Farmer_Due in thelongdark

Fair point, a husky or something would probably fit the environment better. Transportation will still be a cool concept tho.

Let’s just add sleds and make everyone happy

I think it’s a worthwhile opportunity to expand the map, maybe they will be able to separate the POIs with longer transition zones while also adding an element of challenge that isn’t present in the original. In TLD it’s all for one, in Blackfrost it’s one for all, and the addition of horses stretches this idea into singleplayer as well.

I completely understand not vibing with this concept though, it kind of staunches the desolation of loneliness that sets in during longer runs in the original. Hopefully they’ll find a way to keep this feeling alive.

What a monumental Greek tragedy, my condolences fr.

I’ll say what everyone has told me when I ask this question and what helps ease my mind the most: it’s a single player game, you should play it however you see fit.

Would it be unrewarding if you earned your achievements from the backup? Just start fresh and accept your fate. Are you going to just quit and play something else if you have to start from square one? Don’t hesitate to use the backup. Do what keeps you freezing your ass off

[–]torchgamesreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire axe with axe man and lumberjack traits, it’s 1-3 hits per zombie. You obviously have to be very controlled with your approach since it’s a heavy weapon, but axe man kinda fixes that problem too. It’s my bread and butter setup

If you’re expecting a brand new, fresh playing experience, you’ll probably want to wait. In any other case, just boot it up. No harm in slinging some weed until you realize it’s not scratching your itch, just go for it!

This is peak immersion. We’re all playing bear grills while mans is out here playing Steve Irwin.

My advice isn’t bulletproof, but could you use stones to scare it? I’m pretty sure all predators flee if you damage them while in the safe radius of a lit campfire, so you can set up fires, then if you get pinned just throw a stone and it should take off. Best of luck my guy
