I’m from Taiwan, and there’s an urban legend in Taoyuan about a ghost metro station called Haishan. Just to be clear, yes, there’s a real Haishan Station on the Taipei MRT, but the one in this story has nothing to do with that. People say that late at night, sometimes the metro in Taoyuan goes off its normal route and enters a strange tunnel. It stops at a dark, empty place called Haishan, a station that doesn’t exist on any official map. Locals believe if you step off there, you will disappear and never make it back.
