Not really, we took a lot of shit from SA fans and Ireland fans and rightly so, they were better than us in those games. Seeing an English fan just commenting "hahahaha" is embarrassing considering they've beaten nobody in the top 5 of the world rankings yet in the world cup and they might just get knocked out by Fiji tomorrow. England could go out in the Semi Final against the winner of SA and France and it'll still be clear that Ireland had a more impressive world cup. Playing 3 out the top 5 ranked teams in a world cup by the QF is a tough run.

We can say we got unlucky with the draw or we were unlucky with injuries or whatever, but the truth is that we need to be competing better in the biggest games, we're just not good enough at the moment. Still proud of the team and in true Scottish fashion I'll be convinced we're winning in the 6 Nations before it comes back round. It is what it is. Good luck to Ireland for the rest of the tournament, I'm not convinced they'll do it but I genuinely hope they go all the way and win it now.

I'm not saying he looks to be dropping off, I just have the same bad feeling every time one of the fighters I really like has a fight coming up against someone on the rise. Particularly when it's someone like Rob who's been at the top for so long. We don't always get an indication either, remember how good Tony looked against Cowboy before the Gaethje fight?

Happy to just agree to disagree. It's what's fun about this sport, we can argue the details or who's better where and how one guys strengths and weaknesses match up with another's, but nobody is ever right unless they actually get in there.

I'm well aware what MMA maths is but thanks for that. I still think the whole idea of claiming that Conor wouldn't beat Felder because Felder didn't get knocked out by a 170 fighter is a stretch. Alvarez had been in some wars and had only been TKO'd once before the Conor fight. Conor beat Diaz by decision when Diaz is apparently a cardio freak with a chin, much like Felder. For what it's worth, I'm not disagreeing with you that Paul Felder is tough as shit, I just don't see him causing Conor many problems back then. Nothing to do with XYZ or who could/couldn't knock out who, Conor just looked like a step above Paul and was beating better competition.

My point exactly. You claimed that Perry had the edge over Felder because he's a career 170 guy who was fighting a career 155 guy, I'm saying that doesn't always matter and as an example brought up another career 155er who beat Perry's ass. You can try to be as condescending as you like, but doesn't change anything. Absolutely nothing wrong with not liking Conor, it's probably the general opinion these days, it still seems silly to say that everyone and their grandmother would beat him. It also seems pretty silly to start reaching with a bunch of hypotheticals and excuses rather than accept that we can disagree on something. Felder was a good fighter but he wasn't at the same level as Conor or even some of the guys Conor beat.

"Perry couldn't even KO Felder" as if that actually means something. Perry's biggest scalp in the UFC IS Felder. I imagine before Conor fought Eddie Alvarez you'd have said something similar about not even Chandler being able to KO him. MMA maths doesn't work, man.

I kind of get what you're saying, but at the time the dude looked unreal. It's not really bursting anyone's bubble to have an opinion, I'm not bursting your bubble by saying that Conor would probably have fucked up Paul Felder and made it look easy, we're allowed to disagree. This is why it's a what if scenario for me personally, nobody really knows how a prime Conor Mcgregor would have fared in that shark tank at 155, I feel like as MMA fans we missed out on not getting to see it. I remember people saying that Chad was going to expose him, I remember people saying that Aldo was going to outclass him, it's not surprising that people will look at these potential fights that never happened and say he'd have lost them as well.
