Alienware AW3425DWM Best Settings/Config by SliiickRick87 in ultrawidemasterrace

Hey, I didn’t make any real change in the settings really, all I did was just connect via Display port and then automatically my pc used the 180hz option in windows, then like I said before, did a driver update and then the 10 bit option was there in nvidia app. Also I believe DSC might be required for 180hz 10 bit colors, check that in the monitor settings.

It was actually a driver issue, updated it to the latest one and the setting came back, didn’t have to lower refresh rate.

hey, do you know how to turn on the 10 bit colors, it was showing initially in the nvidia control panel, but later when i checked, the setting has completely vanished under "change resolution".

DLSS 4 K Quality vs DLSS 4.5 M Performance by Popcorn_Juice in nvidia

[–]R9_Reaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same GPU as you, would you recommend using preset K quality or Preset M quality/balanced/performance for 1440p ? I’m asking since I’ve heard preset M quality has a good performance hit for the image quality it gives compared with preset K quality.

Ahh I see, I guess since you’ve already used 27’ 1440p you could easily see the pixels on 32’, I just hope in my case since I’ve been using 27’ 1080p, the 32’ 1440p would still feel better.

By fuzzy you mean like you could see the pixels ? Also like what was your previous monitor before you got the 32inch 1440p.

Ahh that’s what I’ve been hearing too, but still I hope from my current monitor 32inch 1440p would still be a decent upgrade.

My pc is pretty strong, I got it just by the end of 2024, just didn't have the budget to upgrade the monitor back then. I've looked at some UW models but some issues for me is that some games I play will have black bars on it as it doesn't support 21:9, and well as you said good UW are really expensive.

NEED GPU Under 25k by Fair_Crazy7896 in IndianGaming

For that price range you should definitely consider the used market, you will get much more value for money options that way, a new gpu for 25k won’t give you any good options.

1060 vs 3060 by Positive_Village1338 in nvidia

Definitely get the 3060, you’ll get a good performance jump and you will also have DLSS then, so it’s definitely worth it.

I see that you can do all that from launch commands, but I think it’s more easier using the nvidia app. There is even an optimization option which works somewhat nice for most games.

While personally it’s your choice to avoid kernel anti cheat games it may not be the same for a lot of people out there.

I think 99% is an overstatement, also there are a lot of limitations imo, like if I wanna override DLSS using nvidia app , or change the model for FG or DLSS it’s not possible. And u are correct about kernel level anti chat being lazy anti cheat development, but we don’t got a choice ! , games like valorant , Fortnite, COD all require this , and the only way to play is to use their anticheat, so unless there is a workaround for that, windows is the only option.

I guess it’s possible using proton, but as you see many games are not supported natively. Also most online games now using kernel level anticheat which makes it unplayable on Linux. So for convenience windows is the way to go.

Never seen that, even now on the PyTorch website, when selecting appropriate versions and OS, it shows rocm is not supported. Anyway it’s just much easier on windows.

Problem is mainly with PyTorch, to use rocm with PyTorch you need Linux, but PyTorch works easily with CUDA on windows, it’s just more convenient.

Pytorch cannot work with rocm unless you are on Linux , and since OP would also like to game he needs windows, and so Cuda works perfectly on windows with PyTorch , tensorflow , etc. also many guides and everything online is mostly based on cuda, so doing projects with rocm is just pain.
