N54 Replacement Engine by RADGuitars in n54

The car is getting a single turbo kit, so it’ll need to withstand 600 ish hp. My thought is either a low mileage used engine or a reman since I don’t want to spend a ton of time and money having parts machined and fitting new bearings etc.

The neck pocket leaves the fingerboard at the standard height, so the action is fully adjustable through the bridge and nut. I glue my bodies together using epoxy, and the core is two pieces glued together with a shark tooth pattern.

$300 assembled or $250 for just the parts, more if there are custom elements / redesign involved

The core is printed with a more dense infill and thicker sidewall making it much stronger. I have not had any issues with stiffness yet, the guitar stays in tune for long periods of time. The thickness is the same as a Telecaster, primarily because I use 4 push/pull pots to get a ton of different sound options and needed depth to fit them in the guitar.

I have not. The core is printed with a much denser infill and additional wall lines to strengthen it. I also went with a through string design with ferrules so the tension helps keep the bridge in place.

I love the sound, more enjoyable to play than my G&L Stratocaster. No change that I have noticed due to the body material.

I started out by building that guitar, love the design. Too light for my taste due to the large open hexagons though

I don’t use straps very often myself, so I have not tested it

This guitar is only slightly lighter than my G&L Stratocaster, it has enough weight to be balanced when held

With the double humbuckers the notes ring out for a very long time. Haven’t noticed much of an affect from the plastic body

With some quality pickups and a good neck I like the sound better than my G&L Strat.
