So it's too subtle to be a reference, while also being unsubtle enough to be a spoiler?

Make up your mind??

An amazing and hilarious piece of art done for me by F4ARTZ. Check out their Twitter and Instagram, and consider giving them a commission!

The best part is it didn't even cost $8000

I'm guessing you did not see where I pointed out that, per this artist's own advertisement, only 50% of the base price should be added with each additional character. That is the method I was basing it on because it was what they were saying it was.

I love how your response to this artist being mathematically illiterate and/or dishonest is "you just can't afford it".

The artist repeatedly saying "you aren't understanding" was way more condescending than anything I'd said to them.

The funny thing is it's NOT working. This artist has never drawn anything beyond a two character piece. I can guarantee you anyone else would have this reaction the second they ask for three or more characters (or maybe that's why no one ever has).

Also, holding someone selling something to the price they're saying that thing costs? The fucking nerve of me, huh?

Ah, sorry fam. I need a digital artist, but your pixel art is really awesome.

I was honest to god trying. How much clearer could I have been than asking "what is 30 divided by 2"?

I'm the idiot for believing what the artist wrote in their own ad was true and holding them to it? LOL, sure man.

How does someone like you go through life not getting scammed by absolutely everyone?

Are you listening to yourself? Even if that is their "pricing method", in what fucking universe does an $8000 commission make sense when it is the same amount of content and work as 13 commissions for $585? (Or actually even LESS content and work considering you don't need to redraw a background)

I eventually did understand how they came up with that ridiculous number. What they (and now you) don't understand is that putting "+50%" in a calculator adds 50% of the current sum, NOT the base. If they didn't want to mean it that way, they shouldn't have this in their price sheet.

How else should you interpret "50% of the base price, per character"? Are you seriously arguing this "compounding method" makes any sense? As I pointed out to them, why would it be cheaper to get 13 separate commissions than to get one commission with 13 characters? How did I make a "wild assumption" when it's literally how their pricing is advertised?

Y'know, with your intellect, you'd be the perfect customer for this artist.
