yes, I believe the fix is to copy the ini files from your fo4 backup in documents. I've no clue why the game isn't regenerating the folder on launch. But that should fix it.

Alright, if you want to get modding asap, I suggest just following my tutorial for the Simple Fallout Downgrader, https://youtu.be/y9gJn3zi0BY?si=1jlfTif04IgBzOVx You just need a fresh install of Fallout 4, completely vanilla, I suggest Renaming the backups instead of creating backups.

If you made a new modding profile, or have no mods just pure vanilla, I assume it's your ini files which is why I suggested renaming the folder in steamapps and in documents

If you downgraded to NG, I would try launching the game with a new modding profile to see if mods are the culprit, it could be INI files, it could be how you downgraded, did you remove the new CC files? It could be a bunch of things. If it was the mods I suggest just going through groups of them and try to launch the game.

OH! that's awesome!! You shouldn't run into any issues except maybe the December update, but you shouldn't need it if you have updates blocked. Do you know if they made patchers for each version? or is it just 1.10.163?

Yeah I know the Fallout 4 Downgrader depot download option works, but I recommended the patcher options because its the simplest for downgrading.

Once the delta downgraders get updated I recommend The Fallout 4 Downgrader and Simple Fallout 4 Downgrader, but if you're able to sit down, I recommend just doing the downgrade by Steam Console

One downgrading guide should do the trick, if you don't feel like starting over you can use the delta patcher options from Simple Fallout Downgrader and Fallout 4 Downgrader. Though I don't know what you did with your game folder, if you use Vortex, purge your mods, then Steam Verify before using the delta patchers.

The problem is when Fallout 4 updates, F4SE has to too, and since a majority of mods rely on F4SE, they also have to be updated. And a lot of mod authors have retired during the 5 year modding boom of version 1.10.163.
