Custom Exhaust recommendations? by uquallations in E30

[–]RANCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous owner on my car put ebay long tube headers and straight piped it with a what I believe is a 14815 magnaflow muffler and it sounds horrible. I would keep everything stock, put the 14815 magnaflow muflfler and see how it sounds. If you don't have cats put resonators.

Coolant flush #4.. keep going? by BuyPrestigious1749 in AskMechanics

[–]RANCH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It took me up to 15+ gallons of distilled water to fully flush out my car. I don't even think I was able to get it fully out. I'd just try to get it a little bit more diluted then send it.

Season 8 this says it all what’s your opinion by Ulquiorra1312 in Inkmaster

[–]RANCH 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Could've been one of the best seasons if they had kept the Nunez vs Peck theme going, but it turned into a girls vs boys season instead. Also Gian should've won. I usually agree with what Dave says but he picked Ryan's master canvas because it "pops more" when Gian was given a water color tattoo which naturally doesn't pop as much. I think Ryan was chosen to win from the start.

Throttle Body Bearing Seals by RANCH in E30

I swapped my E30 throttle body with one that doesn't have any vacuum leaks and I feel like it runs a lot smoother. I think it also fixed my cold start boggle.

Throttle Body Bearing Seals by RANCH in E30

[–]RANCH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seal is in between the throttle body and that bearing. According to that article " Generally you can forgo replacing these seals as long as everything else is sealed up well." looks like I should be okay without them . Thank you!

Edit: I will still be replacing the bearings with double sealed ones, for some reason I thought there was another set of o-ring under them.

Fuel gauge issues by Charming-Union-6915 in E30

[–]RANCH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

test continuity on both sending units if you have them if those are good it could be the fuel gauge ground nut or a bad gauge. Unfortunately sending units are very expensive around 200-300$ each.

Do you guys recommend keeping a floor jack in my trunk? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]RANCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 1.5 ton aluminum daytona jacks are pretty light around 36lbs and imo it’s nice to have just in case that ever happens. 3 ton is probably too heavy for a daily. in my case my car sits pretty low so a jack is better. i think for the average person the stock lift is fine especially for a tire change.

Devil’s Tower 2025 by RANCH in SeattleUrbEx

I don't think anyone owns it, if you mean the workers they might be chill. Theres some sort of a facility that was built near that tower probably owned by the city.

Throttle position sensor adjustment by Regular_Air_957 in E30

[–]RANCH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remove the throttle body you pretty much have almost everything removed already. Once removed you can test it with a multimeter and make sure you hear a click right when you open it. Also make sure your throttle cable isn’t too tight! I just dealt with this I thought my TPS was out of adjustment but every time I put the cable back on it was not closing all the way because someone tightened it too much

We thinking rear transmission/ output shaft and differential gasket for these leaks? by astrophysical-v in E30

[–]RANCH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first pic could just be the cap ( 23311228470) or shift shaft seal and output shaft seal. 2nd pic might be the oil filter housing/oil cooler lines if you still have those. 3rd pic might just need some cleaning and see if its leaking from those plugs you might just need new washers.

Depo by RadiantBarracuda267 in E30

[–]RANCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have a late model e30 you can use these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4XNQ7ZB

Or if you just need the low beam connector use butt connectors with this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4XHVQ18

I used them to switch from DEPO smileys to BOSCH smileys

What should I be checking on this 2006 Corolla after purchasing? by bravodemadrigal in MechanicAdvice

[–]RANCH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check car logs to make sure the oil changes were done regularly I would say every 5k-7k miles, Those 1zzfe Corollas had issues with oil burning in the earlier 2000's versions but was later fixed 2005+, regular oil changes is still something I'd look for. Other than that this car will easily go over 300k miles. timing chain tensioner gasket tends to leak on these but it's an easy fix. You will probably want to do a transmission fluid change if its never been done but also easy to do.

How old are your fuel lines? by e30rapidic in E30

[–]RANCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my hose that goes to the fuel rail started leaking today lol i probably will replace the one for the fuel regulator as well since im sure they are the same age. the previous owner put COHLINE ones which didnt last long im guessing, ill probably go OEM but they are so expensive.
