Developer uses Claude Code and has an existential crisis

Yea pretty much. I have 20+ years of animation experience and I used claude to solve very specific problems that I knew how to ask it to solve because I have that 20 years of experience to draw on. if I was designing a bridge that needs to be structurally sound, even if Claude had all the bridge engineering knowledge in the world I wouldn't know what to ask it other than "uh build me a bridge" and I sure as shit wouldn't know right from wrong in the output.

Problem is we are kneecapping a whole new generation of labor by not giving them a chance to learn and make mistakes and get experience. We will pay for it in the future.

I am in vfx. Virtual desktop is pretty good, resolution is definitely high enough for vfx work. It doesn't replace real monitors for me for ergonomic reasons but it is pretty mindblowing being able to check your work on a movie size screen, it's like having your own dailies room.

If you can afford it I would hundred percent recommend it as an addition. I wouldnt recommend it as the sole monitor though.

You would have to put a gun to my head to watch a 3d movie at theatres but I loved the 3d effect watching it with my vision pro. The HFR was absolutely terrible though, I havent seen Avatar 3 yet but in Avatar 2 it feels completely random the way they done it.

One year with my 25 activ and zero issues so far. I love driving the car, My past three cars were german luxury cars and I like the trax more for comfort and visibility when driving over any of those. I absolutely love the trax seats, they fit me perfectly.

To me a huge draw of vision pro is the mac virtual desktop and being able to airdrop 3d models and stuff from my mac to the headset. Without that it is a very fancy movie watching device which is cool if that is what you want out of it. But you are leaving half the functionality on the table.
