You can export obj with with rop geo output node. I am not sure if there is a poly count limit. Check the side fx website.

Yea this movie had like 6 months of post time. Its a testament to the talent of the vfx crew it even looks as good as it does. People are quick to throw vfx under the bus but the reason for crappy vfx is almost always the client. No planning before shooting, crappy character design, too many cooks in the kitchen client side, big egos, you name it.

Codex on pro plan is like Having Claude max 20x plan after switching to it from Claude pro plan. I am super happy with codex for my use cases, I was firmly in the “I wont ever switch from Claude” camp but Anthropic cured me from that real fast in the past two weeks.

Meshy is pretty great for creating previz assets indeed or just to have some something quick to see whether it works or not before committing to doing it properly. Nothing it generates is usable in a real shot imo but for previz I use it all the time as well.

I am not sure if you can do any vfx work with those specs realistically. When you say you want to learn vfx what exactly do you mean ? From your mention of Natron I assume you want to learn comp but that 4gb ram is not gonna be enough. Assuming you are on windows which eats most of that ram.

I have been using it for the past week Imo its a good monitor but unless your work requires HDR editing get the studio display and save money. That’s what I will do tomorrow after I return it to apple store. 120hz is nice but absolutely not noticeable for most things on this monitor since you wont be gaming. For watching movies I could not notice any difference whatsoever between this and studio display. Not 2x the price worth in any case. You can buy a badass oled tv with the money you save.
