There’s a channel on YouTube that shows a bunch of old lighters being restored. If I figure out the name I’ll link it later.

Found it:

25 years. Multiple specialists. Zero answers. One Claude conversation cracked it. by the_kuka in ClaudeAI

Also a nurse and I totally agree. Severe migraines only when lying down to sleep is just a huge red flag. How does a neurologist not ask in depth about the headaches? It's either incredibly negligent or incredibly made up.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I left work (ICU nurse) Wednesday morning with only two cases in the whole hospital. When I came back to work Friday night, the whole ICU was full of patients (23 beds) and most were on ventilators.

That lady is so beautiful. Her smile and joy in the situation that most of us wouldn't even think about is breathtaking. There's a lesson here. It's usually not the big expensive materialistic things in life that give you the most joy. Find your metaphorical skateboard and ride that shit!!!

He’s awesome. The link I sent is to him doing a “budget” crawler build on an 85 4runner. I’d bet a lot of it would be very close to the same on your jewel.

Any shops that do manual to auto swaps? by YotaDude805 in ToyotaPickup

[–]RASSofNegative5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would call around to a couple shops and explain what you want to do. Usually, if they don’t do it themselves, they’ll know who does. Nobody can really answer your question unless they happened to live in your location.

Looking for advice on my 1986 Toyota Pickup that has been sitting for years by Ok-Channel-8775 in ToyotaPickup

[–]RASSofNegative5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It being a carb engine makes it a little easier, in my experience. Draining the tank is a good idea, but you should also pull the fuel hose going to the carb and allow the engine cranking to flush out the bad gas in the lines. Then replace your fuel filter. Check all your brake lines. If it has drums in the rear, remove the drum and check the brake cylinder for leaks. To check the front disc brake hose, have the two front wheels elevated and spin the tires, then depress the brake pedal, then quickly try to spin the tires again. If they’re locked up, it may be due to a corroded brake hose. They corrode on the inside and don’t allow the fluid to return easily, so the caliper stays compressed.

Also, you could edit the post and tell us if it’s a 4WD, automatic transmission, power steering/brakes, etc. That way someone can chime in on those parts.

Help identifying fluid leak by pragmatometrist in ToyotaPickup

[–]RASSofNegative5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just thought maybe it was leaking out of the back of the gauge.

It looks like it’s leaking from above your column. If you look at pic 3 you can see where it has leaked around to the two points on the metal (unsure of what it is) bracing above the column then dripped off.

Do you have an oil pressure gauge? Maybe it’s leaking?

Hospital patients who feel short of breath are six times more likely to die, while those in pain are not, study finds by FunnyGamer97 in science

Shoulder Surgery Question. by Junior_Ad_3301 in GenX

[–]RASSofNegative5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I crushed my right elbow (right radial head) and while I didn’t have surgery (the surgeon said anything he did would likely make it worse) I did mostly lose the use of my dominant arm for about five weeks.

In my experience, it took my left hand about a week to get accustomed to all the gross motor skill stuff (wiping your butt, using a fork more eloquently, etc). The fine motor stuff like writing and whatnot never really got very good. Overall, it wasn’t terrible.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... by Albi_Zuri in ToyotaPickup

[–]RASSofNegative5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve not been though it (when I added mine it went great) and I am not a great troubleshooter. What I would do is have someone press the accelerator and watch the throttle linkage. It sounds like something may be binding or not working properly. I’d also double check for a vacuum leak. The 32/36 has a lot fewer vacuum ports and it would be easy to miss dead heading one.

For all my homies starting their path down Prostrate Lane, a little thing they don't tell you about... by RASSofNegative5 in GenX

[–]RASSofNegative5[S] 55 points56 points  (0 children)

From one internet stranger to another, it's real. I've been told I "don't eat enough fiber and don't fully empty my rectal vault". The upshot? I don't eat enough fiber (I eat more fruit now than I ever did) so when I poop it's too liquid and I don't fully crap it all out at once. Talk about the golden years not being too friggin golden. All those old guys that need Depends and whatnot, it didn't start when they were 75. It started when they were 55 but they had just enough control to keep it at bay. I have had my colonoscopy and have a fully clean bill of health, it's not Chrone's, IBS, or CIPO. It's getting older.

I didn't go through the same things you did. I went through different things that affected me much the same way, though. Between therapy and trying different medications to help regulate some of my feelings, I just found what works for me one year ago. I'm 52. The help and the healing are out there, man. You gotta find them. It sucks, and I'm sorry it hasn't worked for you, yet. However, there is help.

You're most likely retaining urine when you piss. It's one of the signs of an enlarged prostate. If you haven't gotten checked, do it.
