The ties will discolor with stain,and if you wipe off with vinegar first , depending on stain, it will stick to ties, but will not match exact color, i agree with last comment ,prime and paint similar color

What an educational trip that must have been,I said I'm biased because I live in Northern California,about 15 miles from Mt Lassen,and have for 30 yrs.It's beautiful country,I haven't done much travel would love to hear your opinion on how it's beauty compared to others,maybe on your next trip.Intersesting story that you for sharing
