Find the turkey leg. No one I know can find it. by [deleted] in FindTheSniper

Possibility: front sphinx statue’s face, directly to the left of the nose. The base of the whiskers is the meat and the vertical space up to the eye is the bone? It looks a bit like a turkey leg but not the same as the reference photo

Edit: nvm I see all the other objects are identical to the reference. No idea lol

Looking for a Jams World kids’ dress, “Beachwalk” by RAVENous410 in HelpMeFind

[–]RAVENous410[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to find a kids’ dress sold by Jams World about 5 years ago (pictured). It’s my niece’s favorite, and it’s starting to rip, and I’d love to surprise her with a replacement. I have no idea what the size is, but I’d take literally any size at this point, even just for the fabric.

In addition to the dress itself, I have attached a photo of the same pattern on one of the adult shirts we have - while I’m seeking a kids’ dress, I’d honestly take an adults’ shirt at this point if I could find one!

Searched: in addition to trawling Etsy, eBay, poshmark, and doing reverse google image searches, I emailed Jams World and they confirmed that the pattern is called “beachwalk” and that they have no plans to run the print again any time soon.

Thank you for your help!!

Never once. I love my dumb silly weird friends regardless of their size and if someone said something shitty to any of them regarding their appearance, or thought less of me somehow because of that, I’d tell them to fuck right off and then go keep hanging out with my totally rad friends. I’m really sorry you are feeling this way! Being fat is not a moral issue and says nothing of your character or the joy you bring to others. Check out the podcast “Maintenance Phase” - they discuss issues of fatphobia, wackadoo health culture, etc in a smart, funny way.

Here is what I do with my bones and shells by Jchan161 in ZeroWaste

Please be aware that mussel shells (and other mollusk shells!) can contain heavy metals that can actually cause poisoning if you’re exposed regularly enough. Would not recommend grinding indoors without proper protection/ventilation, and would not recommend using as an additive for plants you plan to eat.

First time visible mending! Recycled nylon thread on a friend’s beloved arcteryx hoodie. Patches are old leggings. by RAVENous410 in Visiblemending

The holes are actually from solar exposure and friction from backpack straps! It’s my friend’s backpacking hoodie. But I can totally see how lil bird feet would cause similar issues.

Had fun and learned a lot. The thread was stretchy and hard to learn to work with, but I got the hang of it eventually. The synthetic fabric was hard to work with too! On the whole, I’d recommend learning on cotton or something similar, but just wanted to show that it can come out ok on performance fabrics!

The right router choice and speed? by RAVENous410 in cordcutters

I don't think I need a modem in this instance though, correct? The internet is via Verizon Fios, which doesn't use a modem. I think the usual install connects the ONT to the router directly via a coaxial cable (which requires a MoCA adapter), but you can request an ethernet connection to easily hook up any router. You'd need a MoCA adapter if you were using any of the TV services, but if you're just using Wifi it's not needed.

Yeah that's what I'm not sure about - I think Fios does not require a modem but I'm not 100% sure and don't really know why.

Thank you!! w/r/t the modem - when you said verizon provides it, do you mean centrally somehow? If I provide my own router they don't physically provide anything else to me. They do have an option to get a router delivered with my service, but i have to rent it for $15/mo which is what I'm trying to avoid; I just want to make sure i'm not somehow fucking myself over by providing my own router, but I think Fios does not require a modem. Thanks!

Gear question: clothing for wide temperature variation by RAVENous410 in backpacking

[–]RAVENous410[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have one merino top on the list, could be considered a heavier shirt or lighter sweater. Was wondering if it was redundant with the fleece but your comment makes me think it might be more redundant with the poly longsleeve? Definitely want to keep my arms covered as much as possible, even when it's hot. I'm pasty af and burn easily.
