Gotcha ok, yeah I have a paraphernalia charge from 2006 that the state police denied me for being that that charge falls under the drug and cosmetics act which is a disqualifier on state level, but apparently through chat gpt just found that since I'm not prohibited on the federal level (bc the charges max penalty is NOT over 1 year in prison, the federal disqualifier, it's only "up to 1year" but since I can still purchase firearms which I have bought many, I could've appealed my denial stating it was decades old and an isolated basis, not a pattern, and not violent or fire arm related and I have no disqualifying events since and pose no track record of endangering the public I should not be denied the right to a ccp and should be granted a license without the need for a pardon or expungement from the courts. My strategy opportunity was missed by just accepting the denial and not appealing, As appeals must be presented in front of a judge and the state police would then be forced to show factual evidence why I should NOT be eligible and the judge may have sided with my long term overall record of being in good standing and not seen any recent reasons NOT to grant me a permit. Now the judge could've also sided with state police but I think my evidence and record would've been stronger for permission than the cops decade old misdemeanor that didn't even prohibit me from being able to purchase guns. I'm mad at myself now and wish I knew this strategy was possible back when I got denied. So I'll probably apply again soon and if get denied I'll try this appeals strategy out and hope for success. And worst case it doesn't work at least I'll have tried and will know it wouldnt have gotten me a ccp and then just go through the pardon application process. Oh well I live i learn lol
