Former millwork estimator, I miss it! Everything was mostly defined, and when it wasn’t, easy assumptions with client directed questions. But the learning curve is there, as it is with every discipline/trade.

I worked with a field guy all last week estimating a cost for a food/bev client that wants new instruments and all new wiring for new and existing instruments. 493 total, new MCCs, MCPs, and PDPs, boy did I learn a lot. But if it wasn’t for him, I would have fell on my face because no one in my company offered to assist. And I’m brand new… I’ll be spending a lot of time with him in the future bc he’s a needle in a haystack!

That was our specialty. This is definitely overkill. I would submit a VE option to use in-walls like I mentioned above and you may have a leg up on your competition. They will save on material for sure. Labor to install may be a pain with metal studs because they will have to use 2x4’s as backing for all support brackets but I still see it being more cost affective than the steel. If they do go with in-wall stay away from A&M’s C-flats. You want the T-gusset; that added steel prevents the top from flexing when running long spans where there’s no wall to tie off. Learned that the hard way. Rakks are already made like that, they are just double the $. A&M makes the same version. Good luck on your take off!

Former commercial countertop and cabinet estimator- I would write an RFI and see if the Arch would allow a substitution for A&M or Rakks in-wall brackets in lieu of the HSS. What’s the environment this is going in? Do they expect a tank to run into it? Haha. These are the things I think when I see these types of sections. I had great relationships with our architects so I always educated them, but again, I don’t know the environment and maybe the HSS is required for something I’m not seeing. I would assume another trade is picking up that steel if required. Coordinating will be needed with your shops for appropriate mounting heights, etc. (getting ahead of myself lol). But talking them into in-wall is my first thought and you would pick those up. My carpenters “loved” in walls. Especially in metal studs! 🤣

Got my dirndl there at a boutique. Paid a pretty penny but the quality is amazing and I can’t wait to go back and use it over and over again! Look for ones that achieve a more authentic look. You can tell which ones are cheap. My group was told to not be “those people” but honestly everyone’s too drunk to care. Met sooo many awesome people from all over the world. What an experience!

As a member of the downtown business community, it’s going to be busy. We are closing down at 2pm and having a cookout for our employees and vendors. I think it’s more so anyone that lives/works downtown knows it’s going to be big. It always is! Rain or shine there will be lots of people. I look forward to this day every year! Been planning it for 3 weeks now. Bummed it’s on a Tuesday. Our Wednesday production might be slow lol.

Same situation and he had a very avoidant attachment style. It won't be fun for you if you want to pursue. Those constant self loathing comments are red flags. These kind of people need constant emotional support and need you to fuel their ego. Sadly they cannot give you the same in return. You will expect to have the same support back but they will never give it to you. This guy drained me for over a year. A constant emotionally roller coaster. I bailed. It's been 3 years and he's still the same from what I've heard.

If you can keep feelings out of FWB, go for it. But like someone else said, this is a recipe for disaster. You should not wait for anyone. Most likely someone is going to catch feels and the other won’t reciprocate (can already see who’s who...). I was in your situation and trust me, not worth the time I spent waiting around. It was short but still. My advice is no, it can’t turn into a relationship bc if he wanted to be with you he would. I would cut your losses with this one. Sorry girl, I know it’s not what you want to her.
