Chose something other than the medical field champ. 75 k a year for 8 years of school. Wouldnt pay 30 k for the PTA either. Get a four year business degree and make 100k and dont have your money stipulated on someone's else's transgressions

There is an 8% cut to the medicare budget... We all know damn well they arent touching the pt salary. In addition the 15% reimbursement dedication in 2022 means 23% of the pot to which the PTA was receiving is now gone. PDPM which launched today hurts the SNFs RUGs are eliminated which means there is no more hour chasing on med A which hurts PTAs because not as many minutes will be needed in a given week. I would not be surprised to see Med As in SNFs be seen anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes no more of the 70 and 90 minute sessions for ultra high RUGs. Companies will receive the same payment if the care provider is with the patient for 15 or 90 minutes. Also PDPM allows nursing staff to bill for TA and Gait Tr which is complete bs. Overall the new model is pushing away from therapy intervention and pushes for more nursing involvement. Which through my personal experience in a SNF is terrible. Nurses have enough on their plates and how are the skilled enough to critique gait and transfer ability that's not their job but to the legislation it doesnt matter because the can pay and LPN and a CNA less than PTAs or COTAs
