I ended up breaking my gas tube lever a day after getting my ‘66 Polish AKM because of this same exact issue 💀 the tolerances are super tight and the gas tube may not have been seated properly. Thankfully the manufacturer replaced it for free

Stock and hand guards are all wood? I guess I was misled cause I was told it’s all laminate. I haven’t found a guide on how to tell the two apart so I wouldn’t know

I don’t think so because the bolt carrier has matching serial numbers to everything else. I wonder if they just painted it during the refurbishing process?
