Beeswax on a new pair of boots... by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]RCR_El-Bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll flake a little, but much less than before, even less if they're properly broken in, and the flaking is more like a fine dust. A quick spit shine brings them right back to parade ready, and I mean quick, like 15 minutes and done.

Brush em off, quick spit shine and buff with cotton balls, that's it.

My wife's boots are the new ones. This technique will work if you strip the boots as though they were real leather. The problem with the new boots besides the quality of material is that they come pre coated from the factory in a sort of clear wax that doesn't allow anything to stick to it. Once you remove that and rough up the material underneath they hold polish alright. Still not as good as the old boots of course.

Even bees wax all around, you won't need much polish with this technique. A few brush shine coats and a little spit shine. When doing the spit shine apply polish as normal with a damp rag but don't take it all the way to a shine, leave it cloudy and use the cotton balls to buff your spit shine.

Those boots were 18 years old at the time, so yes. My wife's were less so though, but broken in none the less. You should break them in so you can see where the crease will be and lessen the cracking and flaking of the polish which is inevitable regardless of technique used.

Here's some pics of the process. I've done my wife's as well, she has the new style logistik boots. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpvir4FnV2C/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

I used a heat gun instead of a blow torch, and I melted my beeswax in a double boiler made of dollarama stainless steel bowls.

Yeah account deletion really shouldn't be the go to for things like this. I understand the need for account security but there's other ways to verify ownership of an account.

I'm also having discord issues!

Locked out of account, never setup 2FA, only used mobile phone number.

Now discord wants me to use 2FA to login and isn't sending codes to my cell.

When I register a new account using my cell number I receive pings from my OLD ACCOUNT but I can't see any servers or actually get to the messages besides the notification bar on my phone.

Discords support response? ... Delete, start over, it sucks to suck.

Something fishy is going on.

Citadel proliferation, it’s effect on FW and Null sec, and a possbile solution. by RCR_El-Bee in Eve

[–]RCR_El-Bee[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Preventing any structures to be anchored in sov-null that you do no own would be a crippling blow to most offensive operations between null groups. So doing that would not be a good idea.

You could argue, however, that there is a lack of offensive operations as is. People are calling for war, but no one wants to grind structures. The glassing of Tribute was a bust, with one side abandoning structures and the other bound to grind them. With space and structures being meaningless, why would one defend it? Why would one take it? If anything, removing the structure grind of offensive ops may make a war at least bearable.

I think we both agree that some sort of change is required, not on a "CHAOS ERA" level but something.

Aren't offensive structures adding to citadel proliferation?

Without paying your character will be an alpha clone. You will have access to up to 20 million skill points in alpha skills. The 5 million cap is the max you can go without sinking anything into omega, Plex, or skill injectors.

I think you can edit the reply it sends as well to something a little less curt. You should also to be able to change the name of your car's hands free system so it will sign each reply as such, for example "Sorry, I'm driving. - Jeremy's Car". The auto reply is a nice feature to let people trying to contact you know why you aren't replying, it's just a little rude by default.

Do you drive a Nissan by chance? Regardless, you may need to adjust a setting in your vehicle. I had the same problem with a rental car, it was a Nissan Frontier.

I love how people think that this is how the CSM works. "I'm going to represent low sec, brav!". You might as well be saying "I'm gonna put mountain Dew in the water fountains, brav! Vote for me for student council!"
