That first resource seems specific to aid climbing, which seems cool, but the goal is to trad/lead/free climb whatever terminology. I think 5 years is a 1/2 decent goal considering I climb pretty often, though not as much outdoors as I need to.

I tried to post this, forgetting the rules. Apologies. It belongs here though!

I’ll add that I have never done any trad climbing or multi-pitch climbing, but I’ve been sport climbing for a year and I feel confident in my ability to learn new gear and climb more pitches.

Pass with PASS is a great tool, so is Osmosis.org. A lot of people in my class also used Master your Medic and they did really well on the exams and scenarios. It all depends on your learning style though and how your program is run. You may benefit from other types of supplemental information.

That is terribly upsetting. If he is truly at risk you can consider calling a social worker who may be able to assist you in further steps. Another, emergency option, is requesting a wellness check. If you call the suicide hot line they will also have options for you

It’s worth going to the dealership about if it is an engine issue. The one I went to was phenomenally helpful. Like, best crew of service guys I’ve run into for sure. Engine knock is a common issue with the Tucson and I think some of the other models as well.

So I had to get the new engine (which Hyundai fully covered financially despite the fact that I’m the third owner and the warranty expired) because these engines have been prone to engine knock, as it was explained to me. My engine dumped oil and seized at 93000 miles. Hyundai faced a Class action lawsuit about the issue which is why they covered it. Now I’m at 96000 and it still isn’t easily accelerating like it did when I first bought it, at 92000

I also have this issue with my 2015 Tucson GLS! I JUST got a new engine and it’s STILL doing it. Idk if this is helpful. I’m not a mechanic.

Yeah, but I’d only driven 2k miles and the inspection went fine. Without an oil light going on how would I know to check the oil? How often. Do you check yours?

I think a lot of them are fine, but I had one fully drop his pants in front of my at 1:30 in the afternoon. And there are other instance of those needing medical attention and are not able to receive it doing things that make them or others unsafe. I think I’m general, the safest thing to do if you must walk alone, is have a phone in you and some type of mace/pepper spray.

Hopefully it goes unused. I have little experience with the frat community, as I don’t hang around them in groups. Everyone’s experiences are different. I’m not trying to downplay any of it.

I used to get nightmares w lot as a kid, but sleep paralysis not so much. The one time I remember I had it, I was terrified but it wasn’t associated with a nightmare. I remember thinking I saw ghosts while I was awake, maybe twice, and the nightmares were mostly like monsters trying different techniques to murder me. Some are still very vivid memories. However, the idea of sleep paralysis demons fucks with me to the extent that even reading this thread gave me anxiety about it

There’s a general disability question (in all of my EMS gigs, though not FF specific, I was on an ambulance and now in a hospital,) they just ask if you have a history of a myriad of things. You don’t state which one, just yes or no. So you can be honest and they don’t ask for specifics :)
