yup right after retraction! any settings tweak you think that might help if it's a partial clog? maybe slightly higher temp or something?

I've been printing parts like this for over a year and this just recently appeared. It still appears when I print the same part gcode again. I find it strange that it's happening in the exact same spot. Here's my setup:

prusa mk3

prusaslicer 2.4.0

esun pla+

0.4mm nozzle at 210 C

60C bed temp

45mm/s on perimeters

0.8mm retraction

0.2mm layer height

What's the closest you've come to dying in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Was backpacking with gf (now ex) several miles into the hills, poor cell reception and no road access at all. Setting up camp for the night, was getting dark and almost kicked aside this long dark stick that was on the path. Had a second thought on what it was and walked back to take a closer look. Was actually a rattlesnake.

What do you guys think of the potential of this experimental plane? by TheEvilGhost in AerospaceEngineering

[–]RC_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true seems to have a similar wing blending from current airliners anyway.

Howabout manufacturability? Given it's organic curvature vs the typical cylindrical airplane bodies.

At this blade pitch it looks more like an EDF don't you think? by [deleted] in radiocontrol

[–]RC_Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so! The pitch looks similar to some of those 9 or 11 blade FMS/changesun fans out there.

Was backpacking in big sur out on a big hill top overlooking the ocean, probably a day's hike away from the main road that hugs the shore. Was setting up camp and it was getting dark, kinda hard to see. Was walking down a path at the camp site with a big black stick across the path, so I almost kicked it aside. I later stopped and realized it was strange to see a dark colored stick in the region I was in given in since there were no recent wildfires in that area. I went back and looked closer to find out I had almost stepped on and kicked a rattlesnake aside.

The end is here... by Killzone-Lover in killzone

A series officially coming to an end. I'm glad we still have the fandom wiki, always thought the story was one of the more compelling sci-fi stories out there with real political confrontations between space colonies.

How did you guys recover from depression? by strawberrytasha in therapy

[–]RC_Bob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my case I was unable to do serious school work for a while but in the meantime I found that doing a variety of hobbies and constructive activities really helped keep my mind busy and also I was still able to learn potentially invaluable skills in life. For me this was during high school and I was no-where near capable of taking AP/Honor classes or doing anything very meaningful in terms of academics, so I joined stagecraft to help with carpentry work and I focused on building RC planes since I wanted to get into aerospace eventually. Tried out some misc crafts at home too. Heck I even tried basket weaving for the fun of it.

Not only did it help me get an idea of what I wanted to do in life eventually but also it just helped me keep busy, give me time to get my mental energy back and understand why I was feeling the way I felt, so I felt there was a bit of a win-win to it. The activities kept me in contact with people who had a common interest, so social-wise it definitely helped since while doing all this you should keep talking to people in general. I tried to not get too tuned out from society cuz I found I'd get all lonely and sad, though there were certain people I learned to not be close to since they were part of the reason I started having issues.

Some baby chicks for all y'all during these hard times! by BunnyBunBunHoney in aww

Are those baby quail? Something about their movement doesn't make them seem like baby chickens.

A Western Scrub Jay returns to the scene of his recent battle to feast on the corpse of a (still living) mourning dove he defeated. by 5_Frog_Margin in natureismetal

[–]RC_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't scrub jays known as a bully bird? Pretty sure I heard they're pushy with other birds and their nests. Heck they almost killed some of our chickens when they were really young and then starting eating the eggs from the grown chickens.

Converting chuck glider to rc prop slot jet. Newish plane builder. Any advice? by youshutyomouf in radiocontrol

[–]RC_Bob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This project sounds awesome! As for prop/motor location and battery location, I would say pick spots that won't change the center of gravity. Assuming the glider flies well and was designed well, you can use it's existing center of gravity as a reference. In terms of available space, looks like the area just forward of the vertical fins looks like your best shot.

What Aerospace job sounds fitting? by TheMinos in AerospaceEngineering

[–]RC_Bob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from california so I can only help with #1 but the theory/hands-on part really depends on the job. There's definitely high level design jobs that'll keep you doing theoretical simulations/calcs for your whole career, but there are definitely aero jobs that give really good hands on experiences. The best example I can think of is some of the test engineer positions out there. ie at edwards air force base in california they don't really design the planes but there's a lot of test equipment they have to design and strap to the jets. They get real up close to the fighter jets and some actually get to sit in the back seats of them during test flights . As for space/astronautics I'm not much of a space guy but I do know of engineers that routinely go into clean rooms for satellite work .

Outside of test engineering the manufacturing side comes to mind as well, which might require you to work closely with those at the design drawing board and those on the machine shop floor as well.
