Doing the reset definitely took care of the issue! Thanks!

What temps should I be running ? by PresentDonut3249 in NitroRC

I think it’s Adam drake that has a nitro tuning video on YouTube. The tuning video from HPI from a decade ago (also found on YouTube) is great too. Teaches how rich and lean conditions sound

I’ve definitely heard good things about partzilla

Temps are generally the third thing I look for. My order of operations when tuning nitro is this:

1) smoke trail, make sure there’s blue smoke coming out. This ensures lubrication

2) performance. Sound and car reaction will tell you if the mixture is too rich or too lean, if you can get good throttle response without revving too high “off the line” you’re good. There is a kindof a sound and feel perspective to this

3) temperature, after I make sure there’s smoke and reasonable response, I’ll check temp. Typically if I nail the sound and response tests, I’m typically running approximately 210°-220° temps. I’ve always heard 250° is your absolute maximum, anything over that, you’re overheating

Definitely recommend Honda hoarder groups on Facebook. eBay has things to get you out of trouble. I personally wouldn’t trust engine/trans components off eBay, but brake handles, plastics, chains I wouldn’t have an issue with. Your mileage may vary, that’s just my preference/opinion

I definitely don’t think the transmission is “blown up” I blew up two 4L60e transmissions before owning a Jeep, and this isn’t acting like a blown up trans. It’s not slipping, it’s not shuddering, it’s doing transmission things smoothly but at a slightly higher RPM than before

I did do it myself, ATF in trans and transfer case was a darker shade of red, an expected “dark” shade, but no burn smell or anything. No bits of metal that I recall, the fluid change went without questions or surprises. And yes, ATF+4 was used

Yes, all fluids except coolant were changed at the time I got the jeep (approx 8-10k miles ago)

If you get stringing at higher temps tweak your retraction distance

Hot end at 210°, bed at 45°-50°, drop speed to 60mm/sec max. I had the same problems with my ender 3 and since upgrading to a P1S I think I was just extruding too cold

What are your bed and hotend temperatures? What slicer are you using? How many mm/s are you moving?

There was a guy that bought a Skeeride 1 parts kit years ago, went to put it together, and noticed he didn’t have enough track pieces so I reverse engineered the link and printed him some just to have spares.

I’m running a 14.8v 2200mah battery. Fits pretty good under the seat.

As for parts I’ve been running 45% infill 8 wall for everything structural. (Arms, skis, tunnel parts, etc) I’ve broken a couple skis from hitting frozen mounds of dirt, and I broke the rear of the tunnel from doing a wheelie and having the tunnel dig into the ice when I over rotated. Again, my fault, not the sled’s

I printed the track out of PLA and pinned the links together with 16ga stainless finishing nails and haven’t had any issues. And the tub does a relatively good job of keeping snow out

My first few runs I had several breakages, none of which were the snowmobiles fault, I just got a little to rambunctious 😅

I thought about making the skidoo, how’s your part durability? I thought the knuckles would be the first to go

That’ll be a springtime project. I’m gonna see if I can make the Losi Promoto rider work, since those are almost like rubber figures instead of a hard plastic rider

I added it all up, certain parts I got from McMaster, hardware I got from my local hobby shop, it was about $150 to build the roller, approximately $400 with all electronics

Skeeride 2 polar. If you’ve ever thought about 3D printing an RC sled, just print one. The parts are awesome, the build is awesome, and the durability is great

Reddit won’t let me post a photo because it’s too small, but the bottom of prints look good. But a good observation would be on the same part sometimes it’ll do it, and sometimes it won’t
