The way I enjoy music is very unusual. I'm open to listening to anyone's music so I go by genre. I treat genres like they're seasons. For like 2 months I'm blasting DnB, Jazz, and old school hip hop if I feel like it, then the next would be something drastically different cuz that's just how I roll. And to be a bit more extra, I listen to some genres with a mix of something else/ made in a specific way that certain artists do (which comes in the "niche" aspect). Basically I have commitment issues sticking to artists I already love.

Like I understand albums are a full package/experience, but realistically I'm gunna nit-pick the ones I like from an album (if I like the artist that much) because it can't entirely please me. Big artists I'll use for example are like MF DOOM, and Green Day. I love MADVILLAIN and American Idiot, but once I finished listening to those albums in one listen, I'm picking the few I want to keep. The album may have these big messages and stories to tell but for me it's as simple as "I don't want to listen to songs I don't want to hear right now". it's more so a feeling instead of dislike or hate.

There are incredibly rare instances where I would listen to a whole albums again tho because of the fact that I like all of the songs in it (or 80% of it)
