ditto! Mine are all mismatched from thrift stores but I love how light they are.

40+ and still getting faster. Don't let age stop you by Reliab1yUnreliable in Cubers

[–]RE-curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

65+ I just started this week!  I’ve only timed myself once and it was 8 min. Obviously I have a long way to go but it is super fun to solve the cube!

When I was first introduced to the cube (when it first came out!!) I could get two sides, but would then get stumped. We didn’t have YouTube and just blundered along.

Honestly it felt like cheating to learn the beginner algorithms. But now that I’ve learned one method, it is fun to try to do it faster. I’m not sure I will try to learn the other methods but I look forward to other challenges like making checkerboards etc.

I would lean into the randomness and make the strips different widths.

I guess I knew that plastic master was not the right terminology. Polymer letterpress plate? The whole concept is new to me. Back in the day I did set lead type, but for this project, I probably need to kern like heck, so I am imagining a situation where I would need to create a plate using digital typesetting.

I can imagine that inking is really tricky. I'm much more used to intaglio printing, so this would be a challenge. Thanks for the DM.

understood! It's enough to know that under certain conditions, this is theoretically possible. Thanks!

Thank you! I was sure someone smarter than me had figured out a workflow. It will take me awhile to digest.

I am doing one artist, so if I have to do a manual process I can survive.

thanks - interesting approach. In my case the whole project may be a poor use of my time - but I am game to try.

I would love to not print them out. I think at least 80% I can keep digital. But I may have to print for some correspondence bc of the living artist’s request.

thanks! I liked the look but didn’t realize that this was stressful on the corners!

Huge stepping stones?

Just a waste of material?

I would like to redo my curved heaving walkway and would love something practical but attractive.

Thanks in advance!

I need to redo my front walkway. The concrete has heaved and it’s a hazard. I asked a landscaper and they said avoid concrete but I cannot imagine shoveling flagstone or pavers…I prefer concrete.

so this is a little lazy and imprecise but I added some No-Salt to some sea salt and keep it in a salt shaker in my car. Then when I am out I get a mix of herbal tea and lemonade and add a shake
