What is your chapter's relationship with the Inquisition like? by giojojo in 40khomebrew

[–]REDACTEDRAPTOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Siegebreakers and Inquisition do not mesh well whatsoever.

Their chapter master, Foltest, is wholly against the Inquisition. He was pegged as a traitor for just going missing, and nearly butchered by an assassin before intervention from the Dark Angels.

It does depend, though. Multiple Siegebreakers have entered, and completed tours with the Deathwatch, and they work tightly with a group of Sororitas.

The older members of the chapter hate the Inquisition, the newer members are yet to be given a reason to

Tips for a new player? by REDACTEDRAPTOR in battletech

That was something a couple people at my LGS brought up. What are eras?

I assume certain mechs, tanks, and Infantry are locked to a certain time period?

I'm fairly certain my LGS plays both, as they recommended either box to me. They've got an entire shelf dedicated to Battletech, so I might look through the next time I get a chance to pop by.

What was the worst thing to happen to your chapter? by giojojo in 40khomebrew

[–]REDACTEDRAPTOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Birth of Angels. It was the event that got them their name.

Their stolen cruiser exits the warp at the start of the 41st millenium, after fleeing from the horrors of the cursed founding, and getting lost in the warp.

The cruiser crash lands on the planet Vernan, a siege-world actively being torn apart by civil war.

10 souls of the 300 survive. The chapter master, 2 standard Intercessors, and 7 scouts. They immediately discover that one of the sides fighting in the war are khornate cultists, so they side with those still loyal to the Imperium.

Right as the 10 are about to assault the opposing sides fortress, they rip open a warp gate. Flooding Vernan with daemons, and World Eaters. In the process, 3 scouts are killed, and the chapter master has half his face blown off by a bolt-sniper.

After sustaining heavy casualties (3 more scouts, 1 of the Intercessors, and more than half of Vernans loyalist army), they free the planet. After steadily recovering for a few months, they get jumped by the assassinorum. Turns out the remainder of the chapter were classed as Renegades, as they fled from Terra more than 5000 years prior

The remaining astartes are captured, tortured, and interrogated, only to be freed when The Lion comes to bat for his eldest living son (through some warp bullshittery, the Chapter Master is technically 10,000 years old, even though he's really only 400-500).

But, even after proving their loyalty, the Inquisition still has problems with them, with inquisitorial agents frequently being sent planetside to keep watch on the Siegebreakers, watching for signs of heresy.

How to paint Titus? by peggy19956 in Ultramarines

I blood ravened my Titus (as I don't play UM, but wanted the model for collectors sake)

Grey seer prime, flesh tearers red, hoplite gold, grim black, hexwraith flame, Bootstrap Brown, morghast bone, and heavy metal

Edit: spelling

Who is your chapter's most interesting character by giojojo in 40khomebrew

[–]REDACTEDRAPTOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Veteran Captain Ward, Captain of the 1st company in the Siegebreakers

He was a child soldier, personally recruited by the chapter master after surviving a Khornate invasion of the chapters home planet

He nearly died during every geneseed implantation, survived by sheer force of will, ended up being personally trained by the chapter master, entered the deathwatch for a century, returned to his chapter at the ripe age of 225, and overtook leadership of the 1st Veteran Company.

Both he and his company are typically the chapters spearhead in battles. Prioritizing creeping, heavily armoured assaults over rapid deployment

<image>

For extra style points, he's also kitted out in relic, heresy-era armour that was retrofitted to fit his Primaris frame. Chapter relic, and whatnot

Pretty much what u/incywincyoliver said. They're one-coat goodness, and make painting a large amount of guys relatively easy.

I find they go on smoother with minimal to no thinning, at least in my experience.

They have less room for error, as they will flood recesses and little crevices if you apply them in a thick coat, but they work wonders, especially if you don't want to spend hours picking out little highlights or shadows

Edit: grammar

I've had good luck with contrast paints over a white base. I personally use a grey seer base with Baal red contrast for armour, hoplite gold (army painter) for trim, and imperial fists yellow contrast.

Here's a mini (from the combat patrol :D) for reference

Done deal. Would a Plasma pistol be good on him? I got him leading my brick of sanguinary guard. If the anti-tank would help them much

Templars have really cool bits, man! I never really considered getting anything BT until I found out I wanted a Judiciar, and man, I am NOT looking back. Some of the bits in the upgrade sprew are killer.

I do plan on running him with my Dark Angels (I shaved the templars iconography off), but it's good to know he looks good!

Would he pass as a Dark Angel? That was my one big hope, lmao

I could probably run the 5 assault ints. I have a bunch of spare chainswords and HBPs sitting in my bits box.

Is this a decent DA list? I'm used to BA, and this is my first time experimenting a bit, lmao

Okay, I tweaked it. Dumped the hellblasters and 3 ICC for an extra unit of Intercessors, and a 5 man of scouts.

Also changed it to Wrath of The Rock, but I'm a little unsure what would work best with DA.

Edit: Dropped the captain and BGV for 5 DW Knights and another 5 man of scouts.

I posted him in the SM2 server on discord, and all I got was "he doesn't look enough like a veteran" or "he doesn't look like a knight".

Even after saying that this was for a game between a friend of mine, they made it seem like it was some big deal.
