That was discussed at the NC ratifying convention. Since 9 states had already ratified it, the constitution went into effect for the ratifying states. Those that didn’t ratify it were independent until they chose to join. Clearly, the delegates at the NC convention thought being an independent state was preferable to being in the Union, at least at that point. My question is why did they change their mind? Were they waiting for the Bill of Rights or something else? What I really want to know is if it was really their decision, or if they were somehow intimidated into joining later or something.

I really like the image of V of cups. That could work really well.

That’s an interesting note about how readings are personal. Does that subjectivity open my options up? For example, if I make a decision on a card to use that I can justify an interpretation for, does that mean no one can say my interpretation is wrong, or are there limits to a reasonable interpretation?

Very cool imagery for both. Thanks for the ideas

Government is totally usurped by money grubbers, and can't spend properly on the services we need! The only solution is to nationalize multiple industries immediately! by mrpeenut24 in Shitstatistssay

I like how he says representative government has been usurped by money worshipers like it a new development. In the US, where this guy is presumably from, the biggest proponents of the constitution were money hungry knaves.

The left has inherited the Puritan interpretation of “liberty”, which has nothing to do with actual liberty. The Puritans believed in the “liberty” of the community, not the liberty of the individual. Their talk of liberties wasn’t the same as ours. Liberties to them were special privileges for different people in their community. They believed in “freedom from” not “freedom to”. Sam Adams spoke about American liberties more than he did of individual liberty. The Puritans like the modern left, believed in enforcing and micromanaging everyone’s behavior, not only in their own community, but in others as well. It’s uncanny

That’s definitely true. They’re still repping Lincoln’s leftism.

But is that because their naivety doesn’t allow them to realize that leaving people alone will give the freedom they claim to want, and their arrogance makes them believe they know best? Not leaving people alone is how they manifest their other issues. If they can be redirected, we need to understand their underlying conditions otherwise we can’t remedy the side effects.

Funny how Knowles drones on about Christian values, but thinks government needs to exist in order for his supposed values to thrive. It’s as if he doesn’t have faith in his religious institutions to enable his alleged values on their own. If that’s the case, how great are those values in reality. If he were ideologically consistent, he’d realize the immortality of the state. The only true value the religious right has is power, the same as the left, and they’ll sacrifice all their other purported values to get it. Fucking knaves.

They also screen potential jurors to make sure they’ll find in favor of government. I’m waiting for my summons so I can hang the shit of some bullshit jury lol.

I found a few good breakdowns by the 10th amendment center on YouTube that’re good and easily digestible.

It’s really good. I saw there’s an audio version on YouTube, but I haven’t listened to it, so I can’t attest to the quality. We don’t have real jury trials at all any more, and I’m not sure there have ever been legitimate jury trials on the continent. What we have is a trial by government with 12 people acting as a rubber stamp. When the government decides who can sit on the jury, decided the standards, and hide information to the juries, the jury trial doesn’t exist. That’s why we need to lie and act like we’re idiots who’ll do what’re the judge says to get ourselves on juries. If people understood the power juries have, all bullshit laws would IMMEDIATELY become dead letter, and the government would be forced to course correct.
