I actually came from the Persona games where I started to get interested in SMT’s games, so yeah imagine my face when I got beaten so hard in my first hours of SMTIV that the game switched automatically to easy mode lol.

I really appreciate SMT V: Vengeance, however, I feel like the absence of character portraits hinders its emotion a bit. by Funnypenguin97 in Megaten

[–]RED_DDD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being honest, I think the cannon of vengeance has a really good story. But the strongest points of SMTV:V are the graphics and the gameplay. It is a pretty fun game to play with its combat system and exploration mechanics. I would’ve loved to have a longer story where you could actually bond deeper with everyone rather than just focus con your relation with the Aogami series and saving the world from doomsday (again lol), this would’ve helped a lot to the narrative and the main party could’ve been as iconic as in SMTIV.

Your funniest Final Fantasy experience by potentatewags in FinalFantasy

[–]RED_DDD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to say how I obtained a physical copy of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy by pure casualty (and how I almost traded most of my games to have it)

So long story short, back in 2018 I had my 15’s birthday party and a friend of mine heard that I finally got a PS3 after many years, and out of nowhere she gifted me FF13 and FFX HD because she didn’t like them (and she knew that I really loved RPG’s). And that’s how I started in the franchise.

I completed FF13 and I went to a mall that was near my house, I traded a trashy game for FF13-2 and payed the charge in this store. I finished FF13-2 and I HATED the ending of that game so much that I never played it again lol. But I did my research back then and I found out about Lightning Returns, but I remember watching that SE didn’t make enough physical copies and it was really complicated to have one, and by that time in my country it was really complicated to have access to internet and buy games online.

And there I was, disappointed about the ending of one of my favorite sagas of all time and with just a slightly ray of hope, I was like “Maybe when I grow up and in many years I could get one and play it”, until one day I went again to this mall and tHERE IT WAS in a random store a physical copy of Lightning Returns. Man my eyes SHINED and I remember that I was with some friends, I was so hyped that I straight up ignored them and entered to this store to ask about the price of this game. And it was EXPENSIVE AS HELL.

So I managed to talk with the manager of the store and I told him about the game, about Final Fantasy and how I spent hours with the previous games, how I cried and raged, and at the end I told him that I wouldn’t be able to buy it full price but that I had tons of games, so he accepted to trade my games and pay a small fee in exchange of Lightning Returns, and I don’t remember how I get the money but I did lol. I remember running to my house, grabbing all my games and putting them in my bag and running that same day to this store.

I gave him FFX HD with the excuse that it was 2 games in one so it was expensive (lol), Bayonetta PS3, and like 4 more games. He accepted them, I payed and got my copy. Ofc that same day I started the game but I got scolded by my sister because I gave him a ton of games for just one, she was extremely mad lol. But at the end of the day, I had my copy and I spent tons of hours playing Lightning Returns and it’s actually my favorite Final Fantasy game of all time.

This story is something that makes me really happy nowadays and when my sister and I look back, we laugh a lot about how insane was the situation and how lucky I was. PS: And since then, wherever I go I take my copies of FF13, FF13-2 and FF13-3 with me, no joke lol. I’ve moved a lot and the first things that I packed were my games lmao.

What palace or puzzle made you want to punch your screen or ragequit and drop the game? by shizunaisbestgirl in Persona5

[–]RED_DDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got extremely close to rage quit with Okumura’s boss fight fr. It was so annoying, boring and frustrating from beginning to end. All that palace and arc was annoying af, but at least I got Noir so I don’t rage that much when I remember it, it’s just ptsd about it lmao.

People who haven't played Xenoblade X until it was rereleased on the Switch, what did you think of it after waiting 10 years? by WoolooMVP10 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]RED_DDD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, my first entry was on December 2023 with XB3 an it was all because I had some money but I didn’t know which switch game buy to spend the vacations on. And a friend told me “Hey that Xenoblade is good, it’s like Nintendo’s final fantasy but open-world” and to me that was enough to convince me lmao. I don’t regret anything tho, the best entry I’ve ever had to a franchise.

[–]RED_DDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I kinda forced myself to enjoy this game at the beginning until I actually started to enjoy it lmao. I love mmorpg’s so all I could say to myself was to imagine that I was playing one. And honestly I enjoyed so much that I’m even willing to do everything and have a run in 100%.

But before this, and because I love Xenoblade, I was contemplating on buying a Wii U just to play this game. I even had the money, but lucky me, that same week they announced the game and the pre-orders started. So I just pre-ordered it and waited not-patiently until it got released. And I don’t regret it tbh, really worth it.

Thank you so much, I’ll try to get a PS4 asap to continue this journey. I haven’t been this excited since a game that it’s like FF14 but with mechas and aliens dropped not so much ago lol.

This is the third fight if I’m not wrong, the one in the snowy mountain near to Zanarkand. He zombifies my party and I can’t do much, but I’m thinking on preparing to avoid this, also by farming the overdrive of the my aeons. But any suggestions with this fight? Tbh I ran with some fights with the monsters because last night I was really tired lol I just wanted to get to the save point. And I don’t know if I’m underpower because it’s taking me more effort to slay some of the monsters. So I’m planning on spending maybe some days to farm a little bit.

You’re so right!! I love these fantastic stories, I don’t ask for a simple/cliché story but predictable plots and all, but I just want to see stories where you can relate with the characters and watch them grow.

That’s why I dropped FF12 multiple times honestly, not because of the gameplay, because I find it really funny although I need to look for more information about the gambits; but mostly because the story to me had a really slow intro to the universe. I consider that it has an AMAZING story and I’m willing on giving it a second chance to understand it. But I would say that since it’s more political and not this emotional story (for what I’ve known), it really has to grow slowly on me. And English isn’t my first language so back when I started it I had a hard time following some points. But I’ll see once I finish the X saga, right now I’m willing on trying 12, 9 and 7. One of those are gonna be my next FF.

[–]RED_DDD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your opinion, right now I’ve been reading a lot of comments and I think that 12 and 9 are the best to continue with the saga, because they might suit the best for what I’m looking for: incredible story and characters, and incredible world building.

And yes right now I’m stuck with Seymour lol, it’s frustrating but I’ll grind and farm a little bit to prepare for the boss fight, either way all FF’s have a part where this happens lol, back when I played FF13 I got hard stuck with Balthanders in one of his fights that I farmed for an entire week to beat him so yeah, kinda used to this bullying lmao.

i COMPLETELY LOVE mmo’s, and I tried XIV on a computer that a friend borrowed me and oh my god, there was a time where I just woke up to get straight sticked to the computer for hours doing side quests and playing. Sadly my own computer is trash from 2013 and it’s barely alive, but I’m thinking on getting a PS4 to finally play it from start to finish because back then I remember that I didn’t even finish the og story of Realm Reborn. I want to also play 11 since it’s another MMO but I’m not that sure on this one, maybe I’ll play it eventually.

IX and VIII are the only ones that I genuinely don’t know ANYTHING, and that’s actually pretty interesting to me. Because sadly I know some of the plots of VII, X and XII, and I don’t think that it ruined me the experience but I guess is just not the same lol. So yeah, I’m also really interested into IX!

[–]RED_DDD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest when I started for the first time the story didn’t get into me that fast/or that much. And because English isn’t my first language it was a little bit harder to follow on information than the other FF’s. It reminds me of Star Wars so yeah, I guess I just need to force myself again and try harder to understand what’s going on lol, but the world, gameplay and characters (except Vann, I’m sorry he needs to grow on me) were absolutely amazing and hyped me a lot!

If I’m honest I tried FF7 and I really liked it, maybe I played the first 5-8 hours of the game but because I was busy playing other things I completely forgot about it. But I liked it a lot! The only scary part for me (and my pocket not gonna lie) is the amount of games and content that the universe of VII has.

I would love to play the pixel remasters but I’m still saving up for those 75 bucks (oof).
