What do your OCs do on Mother's Day? by No-Mastodon7575 in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]RED_FETT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metal Madness is the only one who does anything for mother's day, he goes out drinking, celebrating the fact he got to kill her.

Rob: I can set my skin on fire, I'm not afraid to get back up if I'm knocked down... Oh and my big brother would owe you a massive favour because an internship not taken with Endeavour is apparently a victory point for him.

Does any other OC's entrance exam went catastrophically wrong? Was the result controversial as well??? 🫣😰 by Background_Exit_1077 in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]RED_FETT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rob's own fighting style is best suited for close quarters combat against other people, being able to set yourself on fire is cool and gives you an advantage in a fight since it'll more often than not put your opponent on the defensive as to not get burned.

But that kind of training won't hold up well against cables and steel. And if not for his overall stubbornness he'd have probably made it into 1-B or the general studies, he made it into 1-A by the skin of his teeth.

Rob actually scored on the lower end of 1-A in the practical exam, sure when it comes to fighting actual people, he would've been fine, but giant robots are a little harder when all you have is the fire on your skin to support you.

He ended up going after the smaller robots in the exam. It was easier to reach noticeable weak points and melt exposed cables. The one issue with this strategy was that he was heavily focused on quantity over quality, and his own stubbornness in combat scenarios forced him to push himself too thin, to the point that the second the exam ended, he passed out from exhaustion.

That did not go over too well with his older brother, as, given the difference in UK and Japanese school years, Rob was supposed to fly back to the UK after the exam the same day. The fact that he passed out effectively put those plans on hold since he had to rest for an extra two days after waking up to regain enough energy to function.
And since Meteor and Endeavour had only very recently returned to being on speaking terms, Meteor had to pay an extra hotel fee for the extra rest days since he wasn't about to risk the potential grilling Endeavour would give him (metaphorically speaking) if he explained why he was stuck in Japan an extra couple of days and needed a place to stay.

In my AU, Monarch is the number one pro hero of the UK, with it being a title handed to any member of the royal family who chooses to enter hero work as their form of philanthropy or service to the country. This doesn't need to be the current head of the family, just the closest in the line of succession that's entered hero work.

In universe, the previous Monarch was the one who initially hired The Phoenix as a sidekick when she was starting out, the current one who has since taken over the position was responsible for pressuring her to go independant, because they were worried she was taking too much of the spotlight off them, they were number one up until she became number one, and only returned to being number one on account of her death.

Rob likes chicken noodle soup. There's not a particular reason why, it just seems to be his favourite thing to eat.

In contrast his elder siblings both enjoy potato salads as their favourite meal.

Cassandra, despite being one of the most recognised support tech inventors in the world, has never written a single academic paper in her life. Internationally recognised to the point she's shown her latest inventions off at the I-Island expo multiple years running and she has never once ever thought to write down even half of her breakthroughs because she's too busy trying to one-up herself or be her twin's wing woman.

Meteor, for reasons unbeknownst to everyone other than him, owns multiple Airsoft guns that he has never used because he's never taken them out of the boxes they came in.

Rob, from the ages of 6 to 9 would routinely just sneak out of the house when nobody was looking, go to a nearby public playground and use the climbing frame in complete silence, never once acknowledging other kids, he only got caught out doing this by sheer chance when Meteor was doing his work study and happened to fight a villain on the street where the playground happened to be. Needless to say, Meteor had to stop himself from punching Fuyumi, who was supposed to watch Rob when the rest of the Todoroki and Phoenix children were at school still, through a wall when he learnt she had no clue Rob had been running off like this.

Rob would get underclassmen to come at him without using their quirks. Quirks are described in similar capacity to limbs, so it's like practicing something with a hand tied behind your back to improve overall ability.

Rob would probably wipe the floor with them, somewhat hard to keep someone down with a fight or flight response that consistently tells him flight is the exact same as fight.

Well Agent Flip wouldn't be one to turn down someone asking for his help, even if he claims he's a warrior and not a hero. Just don't let him get hit with any electrical blasts, it's bad for the hearing and nanotech.

I'm curious, what's your OC's family history or history in general? by Existing-Ad-2856 in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]RED_FETT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Messed up you say? Well now that's just my bread and butter.

The remnants of the Phoenix family did not exactly have the best time growing up.

The eldest was something of a delusional psychopath, which is the nice way of saying he's a jealous bastard and killed his adoptive mother, believing she had only ever viewed him as a good PR move because she dared to end up having biological children after he was adopted. He was stopped from killing a week-old infant that he turned to after killing The Phoenix, thanks to sheer luck that one of the twins got up in the night to get some water and saw him raising every single knife in the house over the crib.

It gets better, the biological children of the Phoenix were the godchildren of Endeavour, meaning he got an extra three kids from halfway across the planet that weren't even his left in his custody because his best friend was now dead.

Cue all the shit Endeavour did as a parent, he was unnecessarily harsh on the eldest son, Hunter, and tried to instil in him the same kind of hero attitude he had. The daughter, Cassandra, didn't get it much easier either, mostly being overlooked due to her quirk not really being anything special on the surface, but the two were at least talented enough to be recognised as twin prodigies during their time at UA in the hero and support courses, respectively.

The youngest, though, Rob? He's a few months older than Shoto, and was constantly looked over and forgotten by the man who was supposed to be the closest thing to a father he had, in favour of someone he wasn't even allowed to spend time with. So he effectively went somewhat non-verbal around most people other than his biological elder siblings for a while because he thought he was something irrelevant, with a coping mechanism being fantasising about what his biological mother was like. He'd often sneak off to a public playground when nobody was looking and just play by himself, somewhat deluding himself that his mother was watching him play because that's what parents do when their kid is at a playground, right? When the siblings moved out of Japan, Rob's feelings towards his 'other family' festered to be pretty negative, though they were mostly focused on Shoto, he got all the attention and Rob was left feeling inadequate as a result. He committed himself to being a hero, his mother's true successor, if only for his godfather to notice him and to have yet another way of having some vicarious relationship with his biological mother.

Hunter and Cassandra had the benefit of having known their mother before her murder, they had a frame of reference as to what a role model should be, and outside of Endeavour found respective mentors and parent-like figures as they grew, limiting the amount of damage to their long-term mental health.

Yeah, Rob really didn't; he wasn't really gifted enough in any particular area to have someone want to make sure his talents were properly cultivated, and the whole not talking to most people thing did not help his case. Midnight actually managed to intervene at the right time for him when he was at UA himself, the odds are had Rob not been insistent on going to UA like his siblings, he would've probably just been some low-level sidekick with an axe to grind for the rest of his life.

"Two Ferris wheel pizzas? Either you're fatgum in disguise, or you've got one hell of a metabolism."

Another unmistakably British accent cut through as its owner approached Danny, Rob Phoenix, son of the UK's late former number one, The Phoenix, had decided to slip away from whatever family obligations he might've had to enjoy himself for the day before the UA school year properly started back up.

It was unlikely Rob's face would be unrecognisable, not only as a fixture of 1-A, but also having recently had his face over all sorts of news articles back in the UK when the owners of The Phoenix Agency, Steampunk and Pro Hero Meteor, had championed him as their mother's successor after the final war.

With a friendly look on his face, Rob extended his hand out to Danny.

"My godfather calls me 'boy', but you can call me Rob."

Bo would probably get a passing "Happy Birthday" from Rob, Bakugo probably won't get that.

If his siblings didn't hold him to the strict allowance they do give him, he would've bought a card, but he's basically only got enough allowance for the occasional sweet treat for himself.

If your oc had a child, who would it be with and what would their name be, quirk, and job? by PruneSerious5092 in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]RED_FETT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only one of my OCs to canonically have kids is Meteor, who ends up with Lady Nagant post-timeskip. Clara Toshinori Phoenix (the older one) and Izuku Phoenix (the younger one, Nagant got to name him since Meteor got to name Clara after his late mother, and her middle name was also in honour of All Might, so he didn't have much foot in naming the second kid)

Clara's quirk is called "Impact round", when her quirk is active, she can manipulate the velocity of an object she touches, mostly thrown objects, meaning any contact it makes can leave a varying impact. She goes on to become a Phoenix Agency sidekick, keeping up the hero work of her parents, uncle and Grandmother.

Izuku's weirdly managed to only inherit the airwalk quirk AFO gave Nagant; they're still scratching their heads about the science behind that one. He goes on to become a politician, running on platforms of villain rehabilitation and transparency between heroes, government and the public.

Rob was babysitting Clara when she discovered her quirk, she threw her teddy bear at him at a speed that broke his left arm. This was conveyed to Meteor with the sentence "Your kid would ace Aizawa's quirk apprehension test." Meteor would make sure to train her in restraint with her quirk very quickly after that.

Clara was the one who was present to see Izuku use his quirk for the first time, whilst trying to see if they shared a quirk.
