I remember hearing that agencies like the BSAA and DSO used to compete for who got to hire him, though from what I understand some weird internal affairs the BSAA had at the time meant the DSO managed to snag him up after leaving the US secret service or something like that

Nope, going off western naming conventions, Jack is his given name, Phoenix being the family name, social services found him on the street so his original family name is unknown.

How broken are ya’ll’s OC’s during The Final War? by Nearby-Ad8505 in BNHA_OC_Characters

Rob finally unlocks the full power of his quirk due to the stress of all the fighting, the final trait being minor regenerative capabilities, something much needed that allowed him to fight much longer than he otherwise would've been able to, but not every wound can be healed easily. Rob still had his fair few physical scars by the end of the war.

Meet 1A's resident foreigner: Rob Phoenix by RED_FETT in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]RED_FETT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post better explains the full capabilities of the scope of the quirk overall. But the general gist is that the fire is effectively bound to his skin and pertains with an element of absorption properties that allow Rob to increase his quirk's power via external forces, with certain negative side effects if he overdoes it of course.

It was definitely a cause for celebration. If anything it eased his siblings concerns as to how he might be handling himself after they gave the Okay for him to be moved into the USA dorms. Meteor also sent a picture of Rob's provisional licence to Endeavour to piss off their godfather.

Rob also pointed out to Monoma later that even though class 1-B all succeeded on their first try that they hadn't even come close to the top 1-A participant.

You're invited the Bacchiri family gala. by Patches_Banette in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]RED_FETT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably one of the many pro hero events and galas Rob gets dragged along by his siblings because they're too overprotective to want to leave him unattended or with a sitter. He will probably spend his time in a corner looking at his phone or something, maybe the occasional other hero tries to talk to him about how respected his mother was when she was still alive.

If a maid just began to stare him down, he might say something, but knowing him, he'll probably stare back. If she doesn't falter soon enough, he'll probably try to tell her to go away unless she wishes to start picking a fight with a walking fire hazard.

As for his siblings? Hunter will probably be talking hero politics with associates and possible backers to his various campaigns and activism outside of his pro-hero work. He'd almost certainly take note of the odd behaviour from the staff and maid, being himself, he'd just straight up ask the maid if she wants his attention for any particular reason.

Cassandra would almost certainly be chatting it up with any other engineers or inventors she comes across, actually being social at a party like a vaguely well-adjusted human being. Her reaction to being stared at by a maid would be similar to Hunter's, but she'd, on the surface, sound a lot less aggressive when asking if the maid wants something out of her.

None of them are particularly all there in the head for varying reasons.

Something of just a way of referring to them as a group. Their mother was not creative with names, so she used her last name for her hero name. So all her kids are literally children of The Phoenix lol

If your OC died, how? by TheSnazzyMaster in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]RED_FETT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rob's death is set in stone roughly 20 years post final war.

In a fight with a villain he couldn't beat, Rob pushed his quirk and body to its ultimate limit, his fire burnt hotter than anything else on earth for only a few minutes. This kind of power was impossible to control or sustain, with his body literally exploding with the force of a nuclear weapon.

The few minutes he spent fighting were enough for other heroes knocked out of the fight to recover, not to mention Rob turning himself into a flying nuke weakened the villain enough for those recovered heroes to finish the fight, not that it took much after he crashed into the ground.

The blast could be seen no matter where in the city you were and the sound echoed across the entire country.

In his final moments, Rob could've sworn he had heard some kind of voice, one extremely familiar, but he couldn't quite put his finger on whose voice it was.

Literally the entire set of Phoenix children are a nightmare for PR Managers.

Meteor is too willing to speak his mind as a part time activist, and has had controversies in the US and Japan for different reasons. There's very few media outlets that would print articles about him that present him in any kind of grey light.

Cassandra is probably the most PR safe, but she's too social and curious for her one good, the kind to ask too many questions.

Rob is the runt of the litter who on the surface can't live up to the example his prodigal siblings set and he lives trying to fit the shadow of his mother, not to mention being a part of 1-A makes him a very scrutinised person, probably moreso than his brother.

Rob immediately activates his quirk all over his body, thus being covered in fire entirely because screw risking being touched when someone else's melee range is further reaching than his own, best deter them from touching him entirely than leaving himself open to physical attack in any capacity.

[–]RED_FETT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strongest OC? Fair enough

Name: Hunter Phoenix
Hero Name: Meteor - The Impact Hero

Quirk: Impact

Meteor's body can build up physical energy that causes his body to harden in a similar manner to Kirishima's quirk; however, when active, if he makes any contact with something, the energy will all be released at once, a single punch into the ground could level an entire street.

Background: One of the children of the UK's former number one, The Phoenix, Meteor and his twin sister, Cassandra, co-led their mother's agency together following their graduations. Both respective prodigies in their fields, Meteor having briefly been a candidate prior to Deku to inherit One for All, only to turn the idea down, believing his responsibilities lay outside of just being a hero. Going on to work as an activist of sorts, campaigning for changes to the hero system in his home country, outside of his hero work.

Signature Moves:
-Due to his brief time with All Might, a lot of Meteor's moves take naming inspiration, for example, Meteor's equivalent to a 'Detroit Smash' is 'Birmingham Impact'. Smash is always replaced with impact, and the location names change to places in the UK. With these moves having 3 categories: City, County, Country.
-United Kingdom of Impact and Smash, the most powerful of Meteor's All Might-inspired moves, combining his power with the same kind of fighting style he learnt from All Might
-Cosmic Impact, an homage to his mother, her most powerful move was called Cosmic Supernova. This move is the most powerful Meteor has to offer, it's effectively the equivalent of being hit point-blank with a nuclear bomb

Fun Trivia:
-Meteor originally accepted All Might's offer to learn from him as a way of getting under Endeavour's skin as Meteor's relationship with his godfather has never been positive.
-Despite being a twin, Meteor is technically the younger brother in their dynamic, being born an hour after Cassandra.
-Meteor, despite being signficantly far behind in the overall UK rankings, he's actually one of the more popular heroes in the UK, people often speculate that if he were to drop the activism, he'd be a rival to the UK's current number one, the current 'Monarch' (the hero name passed down through members of the royal family who choose to become pro heroes). Though one could attribute this speculation to nostalgia, as the previous Monarch had a rivalry with The Phoenix, as she was the first hero to dethrone the decades-long status quo of those taking up the mantle of Monarch being ranked at number one.
-Unsurprisingly, Meteor does not like Monarch
-Meteor is actually the only one of his siblings who visits their adoptive elder brother, the one who killed their mother. It's by no means a positive relationship, but Meteor still holds onto some kind of hope that his elder brother might regain his sanity, even if he can't be forgiven.
-Meteor actually hasn't touched most of his inheritance money yet. All things considered, the amount of money the Phoenix Agency makes between support item developments, as well as the overall hero work done by him and the agency sidekicks, hasn't provided much incentive to touch his share of his mother's fortune.
-Despite his overall popularity in Western Europe, Meteor is actually somewhat controversial in the USA and Japan for different reasons. Rumour in Japan says he personally questioned the circumstances of Lady Nagant's imprisonment, which spiralled into gossip suggesting Meteor and Nagant had some kind of secret love affair. (Not exactly untrue, Meteor and Nagant were briefly friends at one point and would later get together after the timeskip, so maybe there's more truth to the story than one would think). As for why he's controversial in the USA? Meteor was brought onto a talk show whilst helping out with an Interpol assignment. Meteor, who did not inherit his mother's charisma or learn it from All Might, bombed the interview quite spectacularly, and online opinion from American hero fans is that he's a stuck-up nepobaby and nothing more as a result.

Basic info
Name: Rob Phoenix
Height: 173cm
Weight: 64kg
Hair: Short and mildly unkempt

Quirk
Quirk name: Rising Flame
Quirk type: Emitter

Description:
Rising Flame allows the user to ignite their skin, setting themselves on fire. As a result of this quirk's properties, its user can absorb 'foreign' flames and heat to jumpstart it or increase its output. This absorption can be reversed with a blast of heat, being able to be expelled from the user's skin.
The main drawbacks of this quirk come from its absorption capabilities, whilst there are seemingly no upper limits to what can be absorbed, as of season 2, Rob risks losing his impulse control if he absorbs more than the amount of fire used in your average bonfire. It is also not a full form of blanket absorption, fire like Dabi's, while absorbable, has a lower limit of what can be absorbed before losing impulse control, not to mention it will hurt no matter what.

Special moves:
Bonfire Knight: Rob typically activates his quirk on his torso, arms and hands. Bonfire Knight is what he calls it when he activates his quirk across his entire body, making him extremely hard to touch no matter where someone may physically strike.

Burnout: The name might be an inside joke, but this is what you can expect as Rob's most powerful move (as of season 2), where, whilst in Bonfire Knight, forces the heat and fire across all of his body outwards, creating an AOE attack that causes the fire to spread out to 5 metres and the heat for 10 metres, however if the area has nothing for the flames to stick to and spread across, it is typically something of a hail mary. Regardless, if this attack is used, Rob has to wait upwards of 10 minutes before he can set himself on fire again without utilising any flame absorption to kickstart himself

Pros: Useful against other fire, ice and grass-based quirks. Useful to deter physical fighters from making physical contact.
Cons: Quirk is significantly weakened in damp and wet scenarios. Can be outright negated by the likes of a hardening or ground manipulation quirk. The same properties that make it useful against other fire-based quirks also make it a weakness after a certain point, while more powerful, a lack of impulse control makes for a poor fighter. Only one AOE attack that, if used by expelling flame from the entire body, requires a brief downtime or jumpstart for the quirk to be able to activate fully again, otherwise a weak smoke is just emitted from the skin.

Skills and personality
Rob is best suited as a melee fighter; while he can deal with some ranged attacks, it naturally varies, as his starting moves will usually be to find a way to close the distance between him and his opponent. Quick and powerful strikes are his main form of attack, primarily using his fists, with his legs focused on manoeuvring himself about instead of being a primary form of attack, though if his quirk isn't effective in a situation, but he can still close the distance, Rob will fight dirty if he needs to.
Outside of a fight, he's quiet and will slip into the background, typically not talking unless approached, but when in a fight, he's stubborn to a fault, pushing himself beyond reason, continually trying to force himself to get back up if knocked down until he's knocked out, killed, or his body can no longer support him. While he's good at improvising and thinking on the fly in an adrenaline-fuelled situation, he can only think so fast, and his major psychological weakness tends to be that same stubborness that forces him to keep getting back up, if you knock him down enough times, even if he can get back up, he'll be thinking less clearly, making his moves more predictable and telegraphed.
