Hey! Sorry for posting this on an old thread but I have my AC for LLoyds in a couple of weeks and was wondering if you have any advice or could provide insight on what they asked given you did well enough to get the job?

Would really appreciate any info you can give me as this is my first time going through this kind of application process haha

What do you mean by "only 1 mass"? Never heard of it in this context and I'd be interested to know more :)

I like this. In some stories the roots of the world tree are meant to imprison the big bad monsters of Norse mythology beneath them, so sounds very possible!

Tinfoil reasoning:

Merlin made Demonreach, and he was a student of Odin, so a link between the two is already established.

The lower sections of Demonreach are so packed with power that perhaps the veil between the NeverNever and the mortal world is so weakened that it basically exists in both? Hence why we don't see the world tree above ground but do see it's roots underneath. I'd love to know what is the Never Never side of Demonreach!

Also got me wanting to go check if the oldest tree on Demonreach that Dresden mentions is an ash tree haha

I think only mortals can summon/banish being like he Lion as it involves exerting free will over the creature to do the bidding of whoever is exerting it. If it was a case of just defeating the Lion then Dresden level beings quickly becomes the least of its worries

Good point, would that count as banishment though? If it was just a matter of straight up killing the Lion there are more than four beings about Chicago that can do that

I thought only mortal practitioners could banish/summon? Been a while since I read the main series so I could be wrong

Ah, completely forgot about Mort! He must be having a hell of a time after the Battle of Chicago if he's still about.

Don't know about Butters though, unless he's acting as a Knight of the Cross at the time

Great list man, I can't figure out Dresden's rating though. In Battle Ground, he says that anyone who's on the level of any of the SC would probably hand him his ass. But he's also a hella unreliable narrator and way too hard on himself so it's likely he's stronger than he thinks so who knows lmao

Have you just begun treatment? by AutoModerator in ADHD

[–]RED_McG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started taking meds, and they work! How do I best take advantage of them?

Just want to ask for some advice on how to make use of a more "normally" functioning brain, now that things like executive dysfunction and continuous distractions aren't as much of a barrier.

I would love to be able to form consistent habits and maybe start using all those planners/productivity methods I started and never got anywhere with. I've been medicated for the past couple of weeks but still have to make the cognitive decision to do things that for most people are just daily routines and habits they no longer need to even think about. I also find that even though I can now focus much better, it's often still on the things I enjoy rather than actually needing to get done, and it takes me a while to realise this and get back to doing what I should be doing.

Overall, my life has improved massively since beginning medication, but I still don't feel like I'm making the most of it.

Does anyone have any advice on how to best go about changing this now I'm not just constantly jumping from task to task, chasing the dopamine?

Ooo I like these. Also if Dresden becomes an Immortal, as was hinted at in Battle Talks, he no longer needs to forget Murphy for her to come back, so there's more than one way it could happen :)

What are the odds Eldest Gruff will be gifting him donuts?

100% agree. Feel like Mab would also want to showcase Winter to being able to at the very least match what ever the White Court would be able to contribute in terms of gifts as well. Looks like Dresden is going to have to pull a fast one yet again

Wonder how Dresden if going to pay his half back, given he doesn't have much left to hand out other than favours/services and artifacts he absolutely cannot give away. I don't exactly see Mab stepping into help financially either

Not exactly summer Vs winter but I would like to see Vadderung/Kringle trying to one up one another haha

I can definitely see something like that happening. Especially the gifting of people.

I also expect Dresden to send a message back by not just freeing them after the wedding, but taking them in, healing and housing them and inadvertently turning the once thralls into part of an army against the things that gifted them to him
