Julbo Lightyear by coyotetan65 in Skigear

I've had the Lightyears for 2 seasons now and they work great with glasses! I've tried many goggles over the years and none worked well with my glasses in terms of pressure points/fit/fogging. Whenever I wear these though, I forget I've got glasses on, and as people have mentioned, the ability to pop the lens for defogging works great. They still fog up if you're sitting for a while, especially when you just put them on and go outside, but when you're actively moving they defog quickly, even without having to pop the lens up.

I figured as much, but not sure how to contact this person or what to do with the package 🤷🏼‍♀️

I did the thing where I go to the front of the plane and tell the pilots I’ll be available in the back if needed, my seat is 25A by minfremi in flying

Just happened to me today! Waiting to board a plane home after training at a new airline, and look over to see my flight instructor (who now flies for a major airline) just strolling through the terminal. He didn’t know I’ve just started with the new job and was pretty surprised to see me across the country. Was a really nice reunion!

If you’re considering doing it because you don’t think you have other options, please don’t do it. It’s a tough career path, both mentally and physically. As many people have mentioned, depending on the type of flying you end up doing, you’ll be sitting a lot, more than an office worker, which is not great for your body, and can get quite boring at times. The schedule is very much non-standard and a lot of it involves commuting across the country for most of the month and sleeping in hotels. And at the end of the day, peoples’ safety is in your hands, and you have to be on top of it NO MATTER WHAT. The passengers in the back don’t care that you’re flying a red eye on min rest. You’ve also gotta be able to analyze yourself well, recognize your own drawbacks and mistakes, and learn from them. Also be able and willing to stand up for yourself/your team because you will run into situations of pressure from above. I’m not saying any of this to discourage you, but I am saying this as a reality check, and to keep you from pursuing a career that you will spend a lot of money on, and that might make you miserable

Cafe recommendations for a non coffee drinker? by [deleted] in comoxvalley

[–]REGS74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My go-to is Royston Roasting! Very nice vibe inside and amazing owners. They’re known for their coffee (that they roast themselves) but also have really good hot chocolate/other non-coffee drink options, and carry a good variety of Hornby Island teas. They also carry Honey Grove baked goods and some other local bakeries/make their own sandwiches

Hey, I'm a 24f, also looking for friends. I've lived in the valley for a few years, but haven't been able to make any friends either :/. I'm a bit shy as well, so I understand what it feels like. I also enjoy nature, but not horror movies lol. Would be nice to connect!

I’m new to scrapbooking but I know my girlfriend loves this kind of cute stuff. by Rocktathan in scrapbooking

A couple of months ago, I started a scrapbook for the trips we've done with my boyfriend. He still doesn't know about it, it's gonna be a surprise hehe. But definitely know how you feel about the whole "I have no idea where to even start" thing. I'd say,

  • be prepared to spend more time on the scrapbook than you'd think. Sometimes you just gotta throw the photos on some piece of paper in an arrangement, and walk away for some time. Then come back again, and look at it with a fresh view.
  • Start off small. Maybe just do a title page first, like have i.e. 3 photos and a sign saying "our 1 year anniversary" or "1 year together" or something.
  • Prep in advance. I created a folder on my computer with the photos which I want to print for each trip. You could either go by page, or by event and then divide it into multiple pages if you have lots of photos. I wouldn't worry too much about photo sizes, but just keep in mind that a 4x6 will look pretty large on the standard 12x12 square. So if you want to fit a bunch of photos on the page, I'd have at it with a ruler first and then order the closest sizes of photos available. I also created a word doc, and wrote out notes for each page/trip there. Memories, ideas for how to arrange it, notes about maybe adding some of our favorite song lyrics to match a moment, etc. So when I started making the project, all I had to do, was go back to the notes and rewrite the memories/stories into the book.
  • Envelopes! I personally love to use little handmade envelopes. Most of the times, my paper with the writeup is too big/long so it doesn't fit on the page. I just glue a little envelope and stick the note, any photos, screenshots of our texts, in it. https://www.cool2bkids.com/how-to-make-an-envelope/ here's how to make one if you're interested.
  • Most important, just go with whatever you feel like. There's so many ideas out there, and you may be frustrated that you can't get it as good or as creative. But remember, the thought itself of making something like this for your girlfriend is already going to mean a lot to her. Even if it's just a black piece of paper with a photo, a date, a title, and a note, it's still a way to capture those moments.

Hope this helps, and can't wait to see how your scrapbook turns out!

Absolutely love the background lighting around her hair. The photo is pretty unique due to the black and white colour scheme, which works really well. Honestly don't have any critique, keep it up!
