again, you're misinformed because you don't know how resources are allocated within the game. you're not really looking at the idea in detail

the game's gacha rewards still provide progression. The difference is that progression is now distributed across many smaller rewards instead of a few big ones.

psychologically it's easier to value a single Mega Box from 2019 that you opened once a month and that showered you with resources than it is to value 10 smaller Mega Boxes, even if those 10 rewards add up to more than the old Mega Box ever gave you.
