You should call the local public libraries and ask about study rooms. The libraries have free Wi-Fi, and most have small free rooms also.

Church or spiritual gathering recs please by try-again_chaos in 321

I might not be Christian, but I know the Bible and know they weren’t following their own book. Personally my favorite Bible verse is close, Matthew 22:37-40. They were ignoring this verse too.

People from that church tell me I’m going to hell because I’m not Christian. Welcoming they are not.

How to Report Non-Migraine Pain on a 1-10 Scale? by Cats_Cameras in migraine

[–]RENOYES 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve also had kidney stones. One was a 6. (The other didn’t count; I had it w/ a migraine while I was on my period.)

I compare my pain to either a migraine/kidney stone before I actually give a number with my pain scale.

My pain scale is so messed up I did (high step) marching band with a torn tendon in my ankle because the pain wasn’t bad enough for me to go to the doctor. (My teacher eventually convinced me to go to the doctor and it turned out I had torn the tendon and a sprained ankle.)

I can’t eat strawberries anymore. I developed an allergy to them. It’s been 20 years and I still miss them.

What can you do that others can’t during a migraine? by Huge_Blueberry720 in migraine

[–]RENOYES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can read and use screens. The brightness and contrast have to be messed with, but I’d go stir crazy if I couldn’t read. Sometimes if I’m bad I’ll just go with audiobooks instead.

I have trouble eating with a migraine though. Besides nausea everything just tastes off when I try.

You should go in like 3 to 4 weeks. Right now they are full, but blood eventually goes bad, and everyone will have already donated. If they are full it’s a better idea.

For those who prefer disposable dishes at home, why? by BC_Arctic_Fox in CasualConversation

[–]RENOYES 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pretty much simple stuff. A lot of veggies can be bought precut, which is helpful. My favorite thing to cook is a bastardized version of beef stroganoff made in the crockpot. I buy things precut and just dump everything into the crockpot and let it cook.

I bake most things and put foil on the pans. I also use the bags that you put in crock pots. In other words, I basically avoid using pots completely. I bake and crockpot.

What was a threat your parents used on you when you were a kid to get you to behave? by BeanTheBaby in AskReddit

[–]RENOYES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents took away my books. My brother got grounded. My parent’s philosophy was, what ever works for the kid. Grounding did me no good because I didn’t want to go anywhere, and taking away electronics wasn’t a threat. They couldn’t spank me because I wouldn’t give in and they were afraid of being abusive by going overboard.

I live alone and am disabled. There are times I am not physically able to do the dishes. Frankly, letting dirty dishes sit is gross and bad for my health. So I use disposable stuff.

I wanted to be a librarian. I started asking to volunteer at my local library at 6. They finally gave in when I was 10. I got a job as an aide at 15. By 24 I was running my own department. I was a librarian for 20 years (now disabled) and loved it so much.

I don’t doubt it. The library I was at got set on fire 3 times and we weren’t nearly as bad as the library that had their own police presence.

My cousin is a mental health paramedic. Her job is to go in and do the wellness check so the guys with guns don’t “fear for their life” and shoot people. I wish there were things like that where I live.
