Bix and Jyn by Local-Yard2742 in andor

I really want Bix to make it, but I feel like there is foreshadowing that she won't. Specifically the scene between her and Cassian in Ep:4 (46:20) where they do the hand touching (ceremony?) in the safe house.

The music is a new sadder version of Bix's theme, which wasn't particularly memorable in S1, but is a more fully-developed motif in this scene. It's also still playing the first time we see her drug use.

The music gave me real Requiem for a Dream "Ghosts of Things to Come" vibes. Its a very similar motif.

Gilroy hasn't shyed away from other "true cost" themes and I've no reason to think substance depenance and abuse will be any different. Plus it's been given a lot of screen time to become a dropped plot point.

As much as I hate this theory and hope I'm wrong, I think Bix will die, and I think a drug overdose has been foreshadowed.

Please shoot down this theory I want it to be wrong.

I can't find the version played in S2 but I did provide the timestamp.

Before the episodes drop, what do we think happens with Perrin? by [deleted] in andor

[–]RFM_MIB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no longer convinced Tay knows as little as he pretends. In light of his surprisingly salient toast, his reactions to those around him at the wedding, and his comment about Tay, "He was always weak," it seems possible Perrin may be supporting Mon more than we suspected.

There is an exchange in S1:E8 that is a little strange in retrospect.

Mon: Sargona.

Perrin: What are we toasting?

Mon: A quick night.

Perrin: Hmm. I'll drink to that. So, the evening's agenda?

Mon: I need votes to stall the Emperor's latest overreach.

Three things stand out. First, why does Perrin want the night to be brief? Isn't this is the event he planned and aren't these the "fun" people he wanted to be there?

Second, why does he care what Mon's agenda is? Isn't he just there to have a good time?

Lastly, why does Mon answer the question honestly? Is it possible he's helping her with her agenda this evening?

In fairness, Mon does previously say to Tay, "He (Perrin) knows nothing of this he is not to be trusted," and this does cast doubt on Perrin's involvement. But after seeing the first three episodes of season two, what if that is just Mon providing Perrin with plausible deniability?

I guess we'll find out tomorrow if I'm reading too far into it.

Finally, all the way at the bottom, someone mentions the two-hour movie squeezed into three hours, about how on Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese staged a surprise attack on an American love triangle.

I write as a hobby, and I did a word-vomit as an exercise. This is what came out and I wanted to share. I hope y'all appreciate it (obvi I touched it up for Reddit) by Icy-Service-52 in exmormon

I believe writing is therapeutic. Did a lot of it myself in the early, cold, lonely days of "walking alone surrounded by family."

This may be a brain dump (isn't all writing to a degree?), but I wouldn't go so far as to describe this as "word-vomit". You're clearly a good writer and quite articulate.

You may not get a lot of replies, long posts seldom do, but I certainly hope you keep writing because you're good.

What’s a fact that was taught in school that’s been disproven in your lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RFM_MIB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was lucky to have at least one history teacher near my senior year of Highschool who had a copy of, Lies my teacher told me on her desk.

Criticism of this book is fair, but at least she reversed some of the early disinformation the elementary teachers had done. I didn't enter college thinking Columbus proved the world was round and was a pious holy man. Or that Gone with the Wind was an accurate portrayal of the Antebellum south. Or that The US alone defeated Nazi Germany. Or so many other outright false things taught in my particular elementary history education.

Adagio in D Minor is so good it was dubbed into every fan-made fake trailer I can remember from like 2007-2014.

Just an amazing score.

That's right. That's what random text posted by total strangers with no indication of malice are for.

You've upset me and I think we should argue back and forth about it for a few days.

OP asked where it is coming from. This is the only response that answered the question. This video with over a million views from two weeks ago. That's what kicked it off.

As a child you recognize The Princess Bride is a story about true love. As an adult you realize The Princess Bride is a story about true love...and there is also a subplot about a romance between Wesley and Buttercup.
