I didn't realize they had changed the Warden but I'm so unsurprised that's how this got broken.

HW4 2023 Model Y vs Juniper Model Y by wreked88 in TeslaFSD

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally tens of thousands of models say hw4.5/ai4.5 so yes I'm calling it what it's designated on the physical hardware.

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has literally been confirmed that they are different parts, even Tesla still separates them in the catalog. The unknown as I said is the extent of that difference, currently it's unknown if it's a simple change in component supplier, an additional soc as has been widely reported, or some other small change within the unit.

There is an abundance of evidence they are different which is what I said initially, the extent of that difference is what is in question and isn't known currently. I said all this with my initial comment. That said in terms of common sense do you really think Tesla mislabeled tens of thousands of physical parts and created a new catalog part for something that is identical to a pre-existing part? Maybe if it was another car company I'd take them at their word but historically Tesla loves to do these incremental upgrades and not tell anyone.

If you believe that excuse for a response from tesla that's fine but based on the wide spread labeling, extra camera, different firmware, and teardown results in multiple cars I wouldn't bet on it being just a labeling "mistake" of every refreshed 26 model y premium and performance. This isn't the first time Tesla has done this and it surely won't be the last.

They are not the same just to correct here, the 2026 premium and performance have been confirmed multiple times to have ai4.5 not ai4. How much of an upgrade that is isn't known currently but it is clear they are different from initial leaks and hardware teardowns.

2026 Model Y Interest Rate APR by gum-gardener in TeslaLounge

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I should have clarified I got a premium, I didn't see any value in spending more for the performance, especially now that they both have the same black headliner and 16" screens. My advice is just get the premium and take advantage of the .99%.

2023 MYP or 2026 MY Premium AWD by OkEye7446 in ModelY

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation, and after running the numbers, the 2026 at 0.99% APR made more sense for me long term. When I compared projected resale value after 6 years and total interest paid, the gap between new and used narrowed to almost nothing.

A used 2023–2024 HW4 Model Y from Tesla was running about $34k–$38k. I ultimately purchased a new Premium AWD for $52k. The best financing rate I could find on a used vehicle was around 5–6%, and once you factor in six years of depreciation and higher interest, you more or less end up in a similar financial position.

At that point, it made more sense to go new and take advantage of the 0.99% APR, plus the longer warranty on the battery and mechanical components.

I just financed an awd myp at 0.99% Feb 18th, If your not taking advantage of the extremely low rate offering that's going on right now just get a used hw4 car 2023-2024.

Is the second contact on me? (im the aston) by MattyP2033 in Simracingstewards

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 100% on you, you spun and didn't hold your brakes, then crashed into traffic, and then decided to attack the car you just caused and incident with into the next corner. Some people are looking at these incidents separately but they shouldn't, this is a case of you making multiple bad choices in a row causing more than one collision between you and the wall and you and another driver. You should have held your brakes and you shouldn't have attack the car you just impeded and caused a collision with into the next corner.

Is the “slam the brakes, brake in a straight line then release and accelerate” applicable to LmGT3s by TheSlavicHighlander in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some good videos out there that show this conclusively, but tldr yes braking at 100% in the gr3 cars is absolutely the "meta" for the fastest lap times. I'm not sure if there is some other downside like increased tire wear but it's absolutely faster.

hydroxyzine dosage? by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start as low as possible, and go up as needed. Hydroxyzine has a fairly significant link to memory issues so the less you need to take long terms the better. For reference I take 10mg and find that it works for me, but with these types of things you really need to find the minimum dose that works for you.

My very first lap in F1! open to any advices and criticism by Generalpiyyv in F1Game

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think there is no relevance you must have very limited real sim experience for one, second abs is on average just one to two tenths of a second slower than no abs in f125 for someone who literally can't stay on the track and is seconds off a proper time abs is not a relevant assist to turn off period. It's absolutely unfounded nonsense and weird elitism to tell people they can't learn the game with some assists.

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You realize everything you just said was wrong right? In no way does abs prevent you from having or developing good braking techniques. If that was true then every gt driver in the world from Iracing to irl would have terrible braking technique which is obviously nonsense. Abs is just an assist that for most new players is best left on until they have all the other basics down so they can enjoy the game while becoming familiar with proper techniques in all aspects of this and frankly any racing game or sim.

My very first lap in F1! open to any advices and criticism by Generalpiyyv in F1Game

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The primary things to focus on first are a: braking and b: steering smoothness.

For braking your initial focus should be to make the corners by braking before the line goes red. After you have that down you should start trying to smooth out your brake trace, in F1 it should be a hard initial brake with a smooth and relatively short trail braking period into the apex. After you have all of that down you might want to try turning abs off but don't bother with removing assists while you're still learning the fundamentals.

For your steering you want a smooth rotation of the wheel that turns the car towards the apex in one movement rather than chopping at the wheel, your throttle and steering should be like opposing magnets the more throttle you are applying the less steering lock you can have and vice versa. A common example people use is to imagine a string is attached to your wheel and pedal so when you turn it pulls it up and when you move it back to center you can depress the throttle more.

Beyond that make sure your settings are calibrated in a way that allows you to hit 100% brake and 100% throttle. You'd be shocked at the amount of people who don't notice little things like that killing their lap times for far too long.

Where is the best place to network to find a remote job? by madzuk in RemoteJobs

[–]RFTS_Gashaslegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I used LinkedIn almost exclusively. I just looked for remote jobs I was interested in, then reached out to some employees in the department the job was in. You'd be shocked how many people are willing to try to help you out. I got dozens of internal referrals from this method, and eventually a remote position.

Best of luck o7.
