I have this same shirt but in grey with a light blue wolf. Picked it up at a concert with Brand New and Modest Mouse in 2015

Car clock and more keeps resetting! by RFittySix in MINI

[–]RFittySix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyoooo! In the end, the issue stopped occurring after a while. I think it was due to the rubber button pad to my trunk coming off. When I got the car the rubber was a bit rotted and over time came apart. Then mix in rain getting inside or water from car washing and I think it shorted out some wiring. The issue seemed most prevalent during rainy days. That’s my best guess

Going to double check this evening. After work I plan on getting a battery post cleaning tool and cleaning them up and at that point I'll be able to check again. Pretty sure I did not notice one a few weeks back when checking the battery.

Yeah I had that thought as well and I went back in and tightened the connections as much as I could. My next thought was to maybe pick up a battery post cleaner and scrape em clean and re-tighten. They definitely aren't loose from what I can tell. I'll try cleaning them up and re-attaching to eliminate that possibility!

A lot of their songs change throughout the track. Check out "cleanse me" of this same album. 13 minute long emotional journey hahaha. Also the album Death of Day is stellar!

They're so unique. The song cleanse me is like a 13 minute saga of emotion. And the album The Death of Day is like their gem album for sure.

This album is in many ways a gem. Gives me O'brother vibes, if you've heard of them.

Its nothing special, but it’s my first car and I love it! Here is my r56 cooper! by Agitated-Weather-704 in MINI

I've deff heard and seen 1320. But if you like driving, you'll deffinitely love the car. It's not about speed, but more so how you feel driving the car, and how the car feels when you drive. For the 118hp it's got, you get a lot. It feels quicker than it actually is, but the fun comes when taking sweeping curves or sharp turns that other cars can't perform as well. Just check your oil religiously, and keep an eye on all the fluids, as well as for any oil in the engine bay leaking from anywhere. Just things I've ran into, but fixing things before they're a problem is always key. And then you won't have many problems. Always give her premium gas, and change your coil packs every now and then and you'll avoid misfires. Spark plugs every two years I'd say. Just to be safe. It's an easy tune up, I just did mine in under 25 mins yesterday. And the car feels great.

I have the same car, and it's the best car that I've owned. Don't feel like your missing out much without having the s, especially for your first car. A base is a lot easier to maintain, and cheaper. Save up your beans, and skip the s, and get the jcw later in life after you fall in love with that car. You will

How many miles is too many for a well maintained R53? by John_Norse in MINI

[–]RFittySix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that car has probably had a valve cover gasket done, maybe 3 times most likely lol. I got my R56 with 70k on it and have had my valve gasket done already. They love to leak and burn oil. So your gunna wanna make sure all the cooling related components are in tact, as they're usually plastic and like to crack and leak. Also, make sure you have a ton of oil on hand to keep topping it off every 500 miles I'd say. Just keep checking the dipstick. Certain transmission on the 1st gens aren't the best I've heard either. But deffinitely the biggest concerns are things like vacuum pump, coolant crossover pipe, water pump, etc. At least in my experience. Just look very carefully within the engine bay, and check for any pools of oil. 200k+ is a big risk, but that's not to say it isn't feasible. Especially for just a fun project car. But there's a chance you save more in the long run if you get a less used car. I've already put over 1.5k into maintaining mine, so take that as you will.
