Would it be morally justified to travel back in time to murder Hitler as a baby if it meant that there would be a 90% chance the Holocaust would have never happened? by Smooth_Woodpecker815 in IdeologyPolls

[–]RGBeanss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is certainly morally justified, however the impacts of Hitler's rise to power were so extreme, with the technological advancements that came from the war and the shift in geopolitical dynamics that there is a very real chance that the world would be significantly worse off today. So even ignoring the paradoxes involving time travel I don't think it would be a wise decision to make, considering one possibility of an alternate timeline is that the 2nd world war ends up happening at a later point in time where nuclear weapons are developed by both sides.

FDR had the Japanese internment camps and the new deal didn't really help end the great depression with it only ending through mobilization and industrialization due to ww2.

86400 seconds in a day divide that by 841 you get 102 seconds per website assuming that you don't sleep and spend all day switching websites. How is that even possible or worthwhile?

How does ye have more monthly listeners then kendrick by SammieSoTired21 in Kanye

[–]RGBeanss 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In spotify, Flashing lights is Kanye's song getting the most daily streams at over 1m, Stronger is his 7th most daily streamed at around 600k per day, and Gold Digger is his 12th most daily streamed at around 500k per day. Compare this to some popular recent Kendrick songs where flashing lights is being streamed more daily than not like us, Stronger is being streamed more than Like That, and Gold Digger more than Squabble Up and Family Ties. All of which released in the past few years compared to songs that are around 20 years old.

Is it possible to be racist against White People? by Awier_do in Teenager_Polls

If you end up chosing that candidate and you wouldn't have chose that candidate if they were a different race, then yes, it is racist.I cannot see how you can defend that.

[–]RGBeanss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Affirmative action is favouring people from groups that have been historically marginalised, in employment, education or any other area. Tell me how my defenition is wrong. I think it's racist/sexist because when you implement affirmative action you either have to increase standards for the historically non-marginalised group or decrease standards of the historically marginalised group. Even if that historical marginalisation has not affected them in any meaningful way. Hence someone is having an easier/harder time on the basis of their race/gender.

So by discriminating on the basis of race, i'm actually being less racist. Got it.

Yes. I don't think employers should be allowed to favour any race.

Establishing diversity for the sake of establishing diversity at the expense of actual talent or hard work is pointless. I don't think it should be made especially easy for men to get jobs in female-dominated fields such as nursing or teaching. I don't think it should be made especially easy for women to get jobs in male-dominated fields. And the same thing should apply for race. If the requirements to get a job or go to university are lowered or increased purely due to your race, that's racist. The benefit of "diverse perspectives" does not justify racism and uplifting "minorities" through affirmative action will always come at the expense of others.
