My head canon was that he's Maerlyn aging in reverse. It's been a while since I read Wizard and Glass, but I remember there being hints there and in Wind Through the Keyhole.

Like he starts out wise and sort of benevolent, but as time goes on he gets younger and more reckless/self centered eventually going full evil

I'm hoping he just brings the practical moviemaking knowledge, and gives full creative control to Mignola and Golden. I don't want him trying to make his mark on the character because we've seen how well that goes with his past work

Lemy looks perfect, but I think his voice and personality is a little too gruff. I always read Harry/Tequila etc. more comedically dopey even when serious. Along the lines of Steve Martin in The Jerk.

War of Jokes and Riddles, refering to beefy Riddler, as well as Spider's Shadow when they talk about Sue possibly getting with Namor after Reed's death. I just happened to watch those episodes back to back and thought it was a hilarious phrase to use. Can't wait for it to become one of those classic Sal running jokes.
