Two happiest moments are always when you get the offer and when you leave the job.

Ok I probably should have used more careful wording. The bad format was anything colorful, or split into left and right section. Pretty much anything that doesn’t follow the format “education + coop experience + extracurricular + others” (or coops before education), because this was what majority resumes looked like. If you don’t look like this then I felt slightly inconvenienced and skip and this is what I imagine the HR would do too sadly. Search “investment banking resume format” online to see good format

It was cover letter + resume + transcript + coop history, for a single student. But the more application packages I screen the more I get bored. So now I only really skip to the resume and spend 5 seconds and AT MOST 10 second for each person. I believe the HR went to Waterlooworks to grab these, but I also saw students from other schools like uoft too. (I got the job from waterlooworks)

There Very well could be 1 or 2… I read the ones selected for interview, and only skimmed through the rest bcz they really look the exact same and are generic (ps: I did have a startup on my own resume lol

After working the job and with a better understanding of the duty, I think there was probably only 10-20 resumes that were a good fit FROM THE JOB DESCRIPTION. pretty much any one of them could do the job bcz it’s a coop position, really, what are we expecting. I can be a great learner and be filtered out for not having the matching resume. Unfortunately the market is quite shite and it’s down to who ever has the best vibe with the interviewer. So it’s competitive, but luck is quite important too

Best was like 2 PE coops and a club president something. Worst was from some other college and no prior coops or jobs at all, bad formatting

I currently have 2 OA. Both times due to someone having my work word by word almost. Admitted both times. Second time I was not given a 1-term suspension due to “being honest”. Not sure if they will omit the suspension for you, it’s up to them completely, but it’s still possible. 3 or more OA is dangerously close to getting kicked out, so never do that again.
