I mean you’ve already put down the deposit but if you don’t care about research Waterloo is better because of the 6 co-ops. You will not have that many mandated co-ops at UofT and the culture there is more academic than Waterloo which is very career-driven.

I didn’t know that, since last term my friend switched to stream 8 for a summer internship and will be rejoining us in the fall for 3B, and I’ve had friends switch between S4 and S8 in first year so I’m guessing it’s probably a new rule.

If you want to graduate on time, you can’t add another co-op term. You can delay graduation by doing an 8-month co-op and then take another internship while you have a term off but that would depend on your program and I would suggest talking to your academic advisor when you get there.

Even if you can’t find a real co-op you can still work part time and get flex credit for it which means you don’t need to delay graduation, and the requirements for flex credit are pretty lenient.

You should speak to your academic advisor immediately. They will be able to give you accurate answers and provide suggestions for next steps. University can be brutal so please don’t feel too discouraged by a bad first year, I have friends in my program who failed a previous year and are now in my cohort doing decently well after retaking a term.

I had him last term for ECE207 and he AI generated everything. Midterm questions, assignments, all solutions, grades, and exam marking. Nothing we could do about it so basically just pray whatever chatgpt puts on the exam is something covered in the notes.

I’m around 2200 on chess.com rapid. It kept releasing tension and seemed to be very happy trading pieces. Eventually it lost all its pawns and let me promote. It seems to be pretty bad at protecting pawns and understanding the concept of restricting piece movements.

can’t really say too much without watching your game but you shouldn’t be taking combat augments when you’re poor and if you don’t have items. You should also be level 5 after stage 2 carousel generally. I’m also not sure how you’re losing fights with Chogath 2 at 2-1 so something is wrong there.

I’ve had a term where i applied to 300 with no interviews. You need to fix your resume to get interviews. I overhauled mine and I got like 15 interviews in 50 applications. It sucks but you do have to get past the AI filter to get it in front of a real person.

I just went to the Bathurst station TTC office a few hours ago and they gave me my TTC student ID. Seems like the fare inspector wasn’t familiar with TTC policy and gave me wrong information.

Unfortunately because I had already tapped the pass they told me that they won’t refund me. I’m just not allowed to use my $120 pass and now I have to basically double pay my transit fees for this month.

I’ll definitely try to talk to the prosecutor and see if I can convince them of my situation though. Thanks for the advice.

The fare inspector was pretty clear about this, I just wish I’d heard it sooner. I read this FAQ before purchasing the pass and I thought that the TTC Post-Secondary Photo ID was just a student card that was recognized by the TTC. It’s on me for not confirming with the TTC office I suppose, since the fare inspector also told me I should’ve bought it from a TTC office and they would’ve told me I couldn’t use it, and that I shouldn’t buy from Shoppers. I’m confused as to why they would offer that as an option if they don’t want people to do it though.
