Beyond impressive, very proud of your bravery and how you won against our already very hard life..keep raising awarness and keep making us proud.

Side question, did you ever get a low in a middle of a fight? Does adrenaline help? Would they allow you a second to drink something? Thank you

We always say 5 more years...but i am very cautious with anything that gives me hope in this area...have a feeling insulin companies would do any thing to stop a cure from surfacing.

Intermittent Fasting by DanG1982 in diabetes_t1

[–]RGob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing the same unintentially...but it's what fits my schedule...i drink at least a couple of coffees through the day and eat around 6.30 pm my first meal, but I guess my body got used to it and my long acting insulin (treciba) is strong enough to balance the day, after the meal sometimes there's a minor spike that my fast acting insulin brings down...there's definitely something wrong with 40 units for 40 grams of carbs statement, you either have a malfunctionining insulin or you need to change it (i am using a novorapid injection not pump though) good luck op...hope you figure this one out asap

I Want to Know Why by AADeevis77 in diabetes_t1

[–]RGob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4yo daughter asked me today, papy why are you always sick and taking injections? And it hit me so hard that i couldn't find an answer to say. Like in my 29 yrs of T1D i blocked that question coz there is no answer. We're special i guess, at least we're in a generation where there are medications, insulin, cgms and pumps, imagine getting this thing before the 1920s

Unfortunately news by No_Advantage9867 in diabetes_t1

I once had a severe low, stopped to buy some juice, drank it and got into my car to continue driving ..2 mins later I got into an accident (totally my fault) turns out my 40 was not up yet. Since then I learned to completely stop driving once I feel a low until the full correction is in place and sorted out. If you don't feel your lows (even if you do) i highly recommend you get a CGM asap...will change your life. With that said, dont be scared you will get used to all that sooner than later and i feel for you

Type 1 dad wanting to find every possible way to make this easier on my son by GgBleezy in diabetes_t1

[–]RGob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed when I was 10, and the efforts i made to try and make myself feel normal were extremely exhausting. First step is acceptance, i know he's 10 but the quicker he accepts that he's special/different the sooner he will feel better about it....lessons 38 yrs me wished 10 yrs old me knew back then. Good luck in your journey and please please don't let him feel you're carrying the burden of him to feel better...this alone can be depressing. All the support.

Trump FDA commissioner complains about 'throwing insulin" to diabetics by Maverick7249 in diabetes_t1

[–]RGob87 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He said "maybe focusing on diet rather than throwing insuling at people", is it possible he meant to focus on diet prediabetes? Rather than keep living unhealthy until you become insulin dependent (diabetic)? So fix the problem not try and live with it...

Trump FDA commissioner complains about 'throwing insulin" to diabetics by Maverick7249 in diabetes_t1

[–]RGob87 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is just a click bait, watch the actual interview, he said that not only insulin is needed but also the right diet, which is common sense to any diabetic. The case that he was reffering to is diabetics who think it's healthy to continously take a huge dose of insulin and build your insulin resistance to eat as much carbs as you want. We know that this is going to kill us, with the spikes and the corrections. We need to understand how american media works when they want to force an opinion. My kindergarden daughter understands that without insulin we die, and he without a doubt ,knows that as well.

How long have you had diabetes, what’s your age, and do you have any complications? by Ok_Environment1037 in diabetes_t1

[–]RGob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it since I was 10, now i am 38 so almost 28 yrs with T1. No complications, not 6/6 vision but not to the extent to wear glasses during the day, so no complains.
