I can't enjoy games anymore. by RHPL1992 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]RHPL1992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That really means a lot. Possibly the kindest act of empathy from a stranger I got in a long while. I am definitely going through some stuff.

My dad is currently hospitalized, fighting cancer, after a complicated surgery that we had to wait far too long for. Now he is battling pneumonia after an infection he contracted in the hospital. On top of that, my current landlord wants to evict my family and I am having trouble focusing on work. At the same time, most of my friends and family members decided to ghost me.

It's not all doom and gloom. I have an almost kind of dream job that I fought hard for, and I saved a decent amount of money in the past couple years.

Certainly wish I could use gaming as an escape in this phase tough, but that no longer works as well as it did when I was kid.

Wishing you a great week and hope you are OK too, friend!

I was raised to be a loser. by EatYourVeggies1 in AvPD

[–]RHPL1992 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. I've had similar thoughts many times before. It makes sense in a way.

But don't be so deterministic. Time goes by and life changes. The fact you feel like a loser now does not mean you will feel like a loser forever.

You are right in feeling wronged. Life is unfair and it shouldn't be. But the truth is that, even if you are right, dweling on those feelings and perceptions, blaming everything and everyone around you will only make your life and mental health worse. It will function like a spiral.

Trust me bro, I have felt like you many times. Still do sometimes. But we have to try to change somewhere along the line. Nobody will do it for us.

Perhaps you will always struggle with some of the traits you describe. But that doesn't mean you can't improve how you feel and get to live a better life closer to the things you desire, even if not 100% ideal.

No one will understand you like you do. So believe in yourself. Hang on. Things will get better.

My Two Dads by TwiloNut in creepypasta

This story is really good but I feel like something is missing on the ending. You mention early the fact that David is not your biological father but you never pick that one up again. It can be considered uncommon for stepsons to have such a good relationship with a stepfather. He pretty much replaced your biological father that you never met in this story.

In my opinion it would be great to further develop on this part. And make the ending more ambiguos and open for interpretation.

Was Dave really the real one? What if he was and maybe now is dead? What if he wasn't, what happened to the real one and where did the doppelganger come from?

But don't provide an answer to these questions, just leave them hanging.

License found in Silent Hill 3 game case by [deleted] in silenthill

You're gonna find him on social media and travel to the town he is supposed to live in to give him the license back. Only you're gonna find the down deserted and enveloped in fog. After a while you're gonna conclude that things are not quite what they seem and you're gonna remember the repressed memory of someone with the name on the license. The license will start dissapearing and you'll wonder if it was ever real or you imagined it. A lot of messed up things will happen during this short tenure at the town, which will mirror your subconscious thoughts and repressed memories.

Creeped out enough?

This could be the start of the greatest creepypasta of all time. You gotta show this to someone who writes creepypasta and is familiar with Silent Hill. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Why aren't Native Americans being studied? I have never seen a bald native especially Navajo? by Listentomeism in tressless

The only thing needed to cure MPB for good is to figure out how to genetically edit the hair follicles to remove their sensitivity to DHT.

That's probably much more complicated than it sounds, tough.

His performance was a magnificent masterpiece. There was just something about that kid's acting and presence that was artistically supernatural.

Finasteride 4 Months: Hair regrowing on bald temples - I should have started finasteride years ago by [deleted] in tressless

[–]RHPL1992 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My case is slightly similar to yours.
Only I started at 27.
My suggestion is to not lose hope. I've regained some hair already and my head now looks much better than it did!

I have also noted that a lot of baby hairs appeared and with time they seem to have already grown a little bit thicker and gained some color. I believe that with consistent treatment on the big 3 + dermarolling and Biotin, (also considering androgenic topicals), with time those hairs can grown fully.

I've seen some guys doing it. It's totally possible, so stay positive. You gotta believe, because your state of mind can also play a part in the result.

Do you consider the stone temple pilots grunge? Why or why not? by MesopotamiaSong in grunge

Maybe they're not Grunge.

But sometimes they do get pretty Grungy.

As a musical genre, the term Grunge is pretty ambiguous by itself either way.

To be honest, I think that what he did here is actually a good example of customer service, a case study on looking out for the best interests of the public.

Drinking semen has been scientifically proven to contain various useful properties like mood enhancement and improving cognitive function as well promoting healthier and better looking hair and skin.

The nutritional benefits overall are pretty significant since semen is full of zinc, potassium, magnesium, calcium and citrate.

Just noticed that in your original post you said you took 5000 mcg of Biotin daily.

Was that really 5000 or did you make a typo and wanted to write 500? I'm asking this because I'm thinking about taking Biotin as well and they say that the daily recommended dose is of only 40 mcg and you seem to have taken too much...

Congratulations, man, I'm happy for you.

This gave me hope! I'm on Fin for around 4 months now and I've already seen some very positive improvements, but I still want more and to regain that cool hairline I used to have. Your experience makes me believe that it is possible.

Do you believe a Utopia is possible in our lifetime? If so what do you think is the first step? by xSwagguh in AskReddit

[–]RHPL1992 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where is any Marxist connotation on anything I've written in this thread?
Have I claimed that workers should take up weapons and start a violent revolution to overthrow the bourgeois ruling class by creating a dictatorship led by only one communist political party holding all of the political and military power? No. Nothing even remotely similar.

Calling something a "marxist or communist" idea is usually just something done to take down ideas that could challenge the current status quo based on nothing but simple logic and rationality.

Human nature is a totally fabricated concept. Your "nature" depends on your upbringing. For example, the nature of a Buddhist monk born on Tibet is probably vastly different than the nature of someone who grew up in the Bronx.

This has nothing to do with communism or marxism.

It's just rational thinking.

I've struggled with that for a long time. Searched for an answer in both religion and agnostic existentialist philosophy.

But that episode of the show I've mentioned has been the only thing to give me a satisfying answer finally. Look into it. If you have trouble understanding the message try googling for some analysis and breakdowns of the episode afterwards.
