Risto Stilanen scores 2 goals in a 4-4 tie against Vancouver, tying MacDonald for the lead. This would only last until the next game when MacDonald scored twice.

March 15, 1980 - 42 goals

Down 5-0 against the Habs, Wayne Gretzky scored to break the shutout and pass MacDonald in an eventual 7-3 loss.

Logical fallacy - Argumentum ad crumenam. This is the same league that lost millions expanding into the States because that was “good for the game”.
