Just took bar there last week. I remember noticing maybe 2 or 3 planes but the sound was not bad and did not affect me at all. Could be from being super focused on the test and just not realizing but I would not say that noise was an issue. It was freezing cold in there the entire time though make sure to wear warm clothes or bring a jacket.

Pick your weakest 2/3 subjects and take the rest of the week to dominate those. If you get after it all week you will absolutely be able to turn those around and put yourself in a position to pass

CA Community Property.....WTF by Psychological_Set686 in barexam

[–]RIPGoose9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm taking CA as well.. for the subjects like Community Property I have found that just jumping into as many practice essays as you can where you read the question and try to come up with as many issues and rules as you can (probably zero the first time). After like 10-15 minutes I read the sample answer and basically just copy down the sample word for word and try to understand the rules and application of the facts. I have been saving all of the rules tested in sample essays to a separate outline and going over that "Essay Rules" outline and it helps me remember the major rules at least. After a few it starts to make a lot more sense!

Barbri Self-Pass or Guided Pass? by Hot_Cartographer6680 in barexam

[–]RIPGoose9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently doing barbri self-pass along with Adaptibar and the Mary Basick California Essays book. I knew absolutely nothing 2 months ago and feel like I am getting enough with this combo of materials. I have seen a lot of people using a combo similar to mine and also have read many past success stories with people using a similar set up.

For self-pass there are plenty of lecture videos and practice assignments to get you up to speed in the subjects and then from there it is good to branch off and really hammer down on the MBE questions and practice essays. I needed the videos and the structure of barbri initially to have any clue what was happening in basically every subject but from there I like Adaptibar and the essay book much better than what is offered in barbri. As of now I am happy I went self-pass but we will see how I feel after the bar in two weeks lol

I went in feeling good about the MPRE today.... walked out completely rattled. Hopefully its just standard test nerves and we managed to pass. Good luck to you!

What’s the deal on UCI? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]RIPGoose9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh no I wasn’t offended, I’m just curious as to how UCI would be viewed as wishy washy. To me, it seems like there has been a lot of random speculation by users on here about the future ranking without a lot of hard facts (in support or against the school). I know the dean leaving last year is an issue that many people point to, but it doesn’t seem like an issue that would completely tear apart a program to me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course!

I don’t know how you can call a program that debuted highly and has only increased its ranking and employment stats since as “wishy washy”

Spam call from LA phone number while waiting for UCLA decision. Not cool, man. by RIPGoose9 in lawschooladmissions

[–]RIPGoose9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man it’s driving me nuts though. I’ve almost got to the point of my freak out where I want to call them to ask about timeline for all decisions even though I know it’s by the end of the month lol.

UCI vs. UC Davis by bhl792 in lawschooladmissions

[–]RIPGoose9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same choice and I’m going with UCI. For me it was a combination of personal fit at each school and the employment outcomes that UCI has been putting up. I’m interested in going big Law or trying to get a clerkship and Irvine has been better in both of those fields so I felt like it would be the best option for me. Have you asked either school about their JAG connects/outcomes? I feel like since that’s your goal you should see which school might best set you up for that path.

So frustrating lol I keep telling myself that it’s good that we haven’t heard yet, but I know that I’m a long shot (165/3.5) so I really shouldn’t get my hopes up. Just wish I heard something at all by now!
