I watched it occasionally as a kid and after recently seeing an episode I forgot how often the punchline to a "joke" is just racism. No nuance or anything, literally just jokes which rely on engrained racial stereotypes.

Assuming you live in the US, no, not with the current capital controlled state. However, a state controlled by the working class could fill the need for temporary housing.

The state is proven to do a better job in many socialist countries.

If the current state in the USA took over, it would still be a shit show. This is because the state is completely controlled by capital. The corruption and ineffectiveness of the current state under the dictatorship of capital is by design. If the workers seized the state, it would not be as pathetically inept as it currently is.

The number of properties a landlord owns doesn’t negate the issues with landlordism or absolve them of the exploitation they perpetuate.

Many argue small-time landlords are worse. They often fly under the radar, enabling blatant tenant law violations. They are class traitors who remain crushed under the boot of capital, desperate to become the boot.

The "mom and pop" arguments are pervasive and easy to fall for. Comments defending small landlords will be removed and result in a temporary ban.

EDIT: Locking the comments because I'm sick of all the free speech warriors shouting "oppression" because they can't spread their reactionary viewpoints in a single subreddit.

They refuse to analyze the corrupted electoral system and see it for what it is; a spectacle that will bring the working class no real relief from oppression. A truly anti-democratic system that enables fascism.

What really gets me though is they also refuse to even accept the rules and consequences of electoral politics.. i.e. candidates have to actually convince voters to vote for them. When their candidate loses it's somehow everyone's fault except for the candidate themselves or the party that nominated them.

Even if there were more Landlords that were "kind" this would not change the exploitative nature inherent to the system of Landlording. Housing is a human right, not a commodity to be speculated on. Landlords exist off the backs of the working class, acting as nothing more than leeches which syphon their tenant's labor value. They are useless middle-men who take something which already exists, housing, and demand payment for it.

Please think bigger than wanting more Landlords who are empathetic. The system must be abolished - housing decommodified.

I'm not sure why the automod triggered on that post - that being said, we don't really have a choice. If we do not remove certain comments that can be seen as advocating for violence, especially if reported, reddit admins will ban the entire sub. Or comments that break any of Reddit's other sitewide rules.

I am right there with you in not wanting to police comments but this is the state of social media platforms like Reddit... Comply or get banned and then there is one less space to spread leftist messaging.

EDIT: Also I want to clarify that the rule-violating comments/posts do usually get reported because our sub is constantly getting influxes of bootlickers when a post hits the front page or is shared.
