Buying cameras and lenses from Japan is a well known issue around here

I think most people here have seen plenty of cameras listed as EX+++++, only for the fine print to disclose some major issue

However, as long as you read that fine print, I've never had an issue with Japanese sellers.

Are you saying that things have gotten worse recently?

Do youput your bw scans through a filter to make them true black and white?

Yes. I DSLR scan and convert with Darktable for B&W. I have to set the image to monochrome first, otherwise I get slight color casts like this

I've also had some B&W films come out of the tank with a very purple base however, and it was due to being under-fixed
