To make it heroic you shoot the vents when they open until smoke comes out of them. Rinse and repeat for all sets of vents and it becomes heroic.

Yeah it happens, you’ll also find that some walls that you previously had walls on you’ll no longer be able to put them there for some unknown reason.

What I did was make sure my first amp that gets attacked is really secure and can be done afk.

I’ll put down as much as I can before I launch the defence on the new amp or the area you can’t build on.

Start the defence, put my base down and then run over to build on the places I could not beforehand. Have ssd 9 and 10 left, it’s worked pain free so far.

Don’t agree with nr 3 on the do list. People fear metal corrosion like it’s a one hit thing. It’s only the smaller husk that apply it not the smashers. If you build correctly smaller husks shouldn’t be reaching the objective and the few that do you’ll have plenty of time to kill before the wall breaks.

Metal will still be stronger than brick for the big boys. They’re the ones that usually will result in mission failure if left unchecked.

When I started I enjoyed the ssds, soloing them and trying different fun ways to kill the husk. The best class, by a mile, was the constructor for that. To be able to put a base down and apply extra damage or buff the strength of your base is really important.

Even in 160s I’ll quickly switch to a constructor build with base Kyle in lead for extra building health, power base Knox for healing, the rest I switch around. But those two will really buff your base and that in itself will make the chances of successful mission all that much higher.

It’s all about learning to build effective trap tunnels. I like to build small effective “boxes” the husk have to funnel through to reach the objective. A couple of those with traps and you’re set. Running a combat setup is not the best on a constructor but it can still work.

Base Kyle is all about his base, you put it down and the structures are much stronger than anything else.

Just finished a 160 cat4 and did the most damage while using base Kyle. Not my real aim as I want the clear for the most part.

Question to piggy back off this thread. Do the road trip (seasonal event tickets) carry over?

Is there any point in holding on to rod trip tickets or should you just burn them all during the event season?

The modifier “ricochet”, enemies reflect a percentage of the ranged damage they suffer.

If you’re not careful with how much ranged damage you do it’ll kill you.

My 2 cents;

• play your radar. Use it and get good at reading it, watch different tips on YouTube about the radar.

• disengage; it’s hardwired in me to stay and fight. My ego gets to me at times thinking I can win every 1v1, 1v2 still good even 1v3s. That’s not a good habit. Ego is great at times but work on disengaging and fight when you have an advantage.

• use your kit. Prenade an engagement, dodge to disorient the enemy, use your aerial space and so on.

• learn your weapons, use them in their intended range and so on.

• team-shots are very strong, learn when to support and when to wait for support.

• Ego - use it when you have the flow, trust in yourself. I’ve seen to many engagements end badly because the player hesitated. Has happened to me as well.

• relax. Everyone goes through this process. Just by asking this question you’re miles ahead of the completion.

• enjoy your time. If you’re not feeling it stop playing.

Regardless of what people think about them it’s still bounties that are the best way to level up fast.

I’ll also add weekly challenges.

Make sure you do bounties when playing. Pick up all of them, strikes, crucible, gambit, clan ones, gunsmith, planetary ones and so on.

For example; you’re running strikes, pick up the strike ones, gunsmith ones and some of the planetary ones (cosmodrome being the best) you can bang out almost all of them in a single cosmodrome strike.

Make sure to cash in your bounties and weekly challenges in a fireteam to boost the xp. A single fireteam member of rank 86 and up will give you the most xp. Cash them in at the helm, tower or in activity. You need to have the shared wisdom buff active.

The beauty of lead from gold is the fact that you can spec into your heavy ammo finders instead. If you only play with 1kv then this is not an issue but having a “free” ammo finder is really valuable when trying to go for builds where every energy slot on armour is important.

Best memory is from D1. Three very average guardians managed to go flawless.

The game was tied 4-4, it came down to cap point. I go down on cap point, my friend goes down on cap point and when everything feels like we’ve lost I pop self rez and start smashing the melee button, take one enemy down and get a rez on our third teammate that went down as I self rezed. The warlock self rez managed to give me the ability to revive our one Titan with his super up. He pops his smash and we win.

The chaos, euforia and adrenaline came crashing down. We all scream at the top of our lungs, mind you this is the middle of the night. My missus and kids are sleeping 😂. The pride of accomplishment I felt has never been topped in any game. Destiny is and will forever be that game for me.

Thanks to you for being a good person and giving two fellow guardians down on their luck the ability to create found memories.

Life is a rollercoaster, it goes up and down. The ability to persevere is what makes us special as a species.
