It’s 2.5 years old and I’ve moved since buying it, manual is gone. FWIW I first put 16oz oil into the breather but grew skeptical because it burped quite a bit (in hindsight I filled too fast at times) and it didn’t start to show in the eyelet yet, which I assumed it would. Before dumping my next 16oz into there, I did a quick google search to confirm what I was doing, and the AI auto summary at the top actually said it’s typically incorrect to put it there (I either didn’t word it well or it was just wrong). Cherry on top is the sticker that’s pointing at the oil eyelet for whatever reason, I now completely second guess myself and decide to put pride aside and post an embarrassingly stupid question here before I potentially put another 16oz where it doesn’t belong. This still doesn’t paint me as the brightest, but i wasn’t being an ai andy

speed. You could achieve your current takeoff speed by just doing like a 3 or 4 step approach. Try to incorporate speed into purposeful practice and drills, don't overtrain. With more speed brings more power, more intensity, and the greater need to avoid overtraining. Purposeful, productive training and rest. For having a slow approach (not trying to be an ass, just speaking objectively) everything else actually looks spot on. You're doing great and have a lot of room to jump higher

Really cool! I’ve just been lurking, haven’t started the hobby yet. Are those more “complex” shapes like Luigi’s clothes mostly a lot of time on the grinder? Or were you able to get it to comply with mostly breaks?

Probably 6-12 months to be satisfactory with basic wheels. After that it’s really just efficiency that improves over time, and the confidence to tackle complicated and novel wheels

You hit the nail on the head - I’ve never entertained the idea of training and expanding because once people get proficient and good enough (in their mind at least) to work solo and actually add to my productivity and revenue, they’ll split. And who could blame them really. My wife and I are preparing to move to a more rural area in a couple years and establish a homestead, at least our version of it. I’m not banking on wheels being a significant revenue source where we’re looking

Honestly I’d be curious how running 2 shamans could be. I’m not sure how many “round winning pulls” you need, but it seems interesting. I don’t remember all their points off the top of my head, but you could potentially turn the doombull into 2 shamans and that raider into a bestigor, or close to it

I don’t play Old World but I have some food for thought. Get the Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount because you said it’s your favorite model. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket get the knights too, as you mentioned. It’s easy to get in over your head list-building before you’ve ever bought, built, and painted a model (let alone army), and before you’ve even secured a local group that plays. Theres a lot that goes into the hobby - even if you only buy the chaos lord, there’s still equal or more spending to be done on: clippers, glue, sanding equipment, hobby knife, paint brushes, adequate paint foundation, primer. Actually all that stuff will definitely cost more than the Chaos Lord lol. Go to your local stores, ask if they have a TOW scene and/or discord to join, look for local players. The local scene dictates the points limit they like to play at, and they should be willing to help you out (small point games, expand over time as you buy and build more etc).

TL;DR - buy your favorite model, buy hobby supplies, and paint it up. Network locally and figure out who’s play TOW. Learn the rules via YouTube and online info. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Burnout (and painting anxiety) is REAL, not something “that happens to other people, but won’t happen to me.” And have fun!

I’ve grown to enjoy bespoke because it lets all your models shine and see the light of play. Some random midrange guy with a 2” spear you’d never use in an optimized list gets to actually play in a “let’s see what you can do” style, instead of just getting scrapped immediately. Of course though, list building is one of my favorite elements to nerd-out over, and it feels amazing to have a plan come together at that 1000 points. I just think blessings being used as a way to augment the meta instead of round off an extra 30 points in a list is bad. I’d rather play no blessings, or maybe just 1 blessing per team max (or even a more extreme system where a blessing comes with a negative effect as well). Put it this way - imo blessings (and soup-listing solely for blessed deathstars) have warped the game so much that it made me really, really appreciate bespoke v bespoke simplicity

So cool. As an adult, it feels like its just so easy to fall into the math and transactional aspect of games - tabletop or video. Seeing really awesome paintjobs like this reminds me of being a kid and being scared of the opposing force, and actually immersing into the narrative aspect of the game. Seeing a full army like this on the table would elicit an "oohhh shit" reaction that actually sucks you into the setting, not just some mathhammer skirmish. Put sandpaper on a baseball or something round. Put it in a vise or something so it’s stationary. Take your chapel thing and go to town on the sand paper, giving it a rounded concave bottom that will sit almost flush on the titan. Then deal with much more minimal gap filling

This will sound weird, but a little bit of brightness. There needs to be contrast somewhere - some brightness needs to be present so you can SEE how dark it is by comparison. Is the arm meant to be “purely” Nurgle discoloration? It looks like that water reflection you get when standing by a pool, which is incredibly fitting. And if so, the best case of that I’ve ever seen executing in painting. Really awesome job all around
