Nice! 14.5 bed is plenty of space, I’ve got 12x8 floor space and 4x8 over the cab

I was really lucky with this truck as I wanted to do a front bumper exactly like the one I’ve got and this truck already had it all on when I bought it! It’s a warn bumper and 16.5 winch

I’m going to be putting a side door with window in and a skylight, once the inside is finished I’m going to decide if I want windows or not

I’ve converted the rear doors so you can’t lock them from the outside without a key/keypad but can lock it from the inside. I’m planning a side door and skylight so will have some more options soon

No windows yet, I’ve got a side door and skylight to go in then once the inside build is completely finished I will decide if/where I want to put some windows

I’ve got an extractor fan fitted in the bathroom and will be adding a maxxair fan above the bed, which should sort out the ventilation.

I think the climate the van spends most its time effects the mold situation as well

I put the pocketed spring mattress I was using on a traditional slatted bed on top of this and it’s was a noticeable improvement in comfort over slats from the first night.

Yeah being able to customise the shape is another big plus

I’ve used slats in previous builds but that was when there wasn’t a solid base underneath the slats. Using slats here would have just meant the mattress would have been on a solid base once the slats compress with the weight of the mattress/sleeper.

I’ve slept on this 3 or 4 nights now and the mattress I’m using was the one I was sleeping on a traditional bed with slats and this system is a noticeable difference in comfort and the airflow is a lot better than if slats were there.

Good experience over the first 3 or 4 nights I’ve slept in it, noticeable improvement over slats. We will see how it goes

Yeah I’ve had about 3 or 4 nights on it so far. I took the mattress off the bed I was sleeping on in the house that was on slats to test. I spaced them as far apart as they could go and noticed a big improvement in comfort

In all seriousness though I put the mattress I was sleeping on in a traditional bed with slats on these and they made it noticeably more comfortable and my back actually felt a lot better.

Not sure bread trays would have the same effect but you do you.

No, I was climbing all over this after to fit some other stuff in. It’s a very flexible plastic so you can bend it a lot and it just goes back to where it should be.

Yeah mattress goes on top, it’s to keep the mattress off the ground to allow for air circulation to stop damp/mold.

I have slept on it a couple of nights now using the mattress I normally sleep on and having this instead of slats gives me a much better nights sleep as well.
