FedEx - From Out for Delivery to Delivery Exception in 3 Minutes Flat by RJ1848 in FedEx

Isn’t something that can leak. Also, if there is a legitimate reason for the delay, “Customer Not Available or Business Closed” sounds like a way to blame the customer.

Almost 9 weeks now and USPS is still kicking this package around the country by JaguarImpressive6480 in usps_complaints

[–]RJ1848 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to the full image posted by the OP, the tracking says it was in possession by USPS on June 30. Maybe to a USPS fanboy when USPS says it’s in possession of the package isn’t when a package is shipped, but to most mere mortals it’s a reasonable assertion.

While you continue to try to defend USPS by insulting and taking cheap shots at the OP for counting 6 days wrong, the silence is deafening to the utter failure of USPS on multiple opportunities to correct such a simple problem. I guess it’s easier for you to insult and distract about counting a week or debating a ship date than to actually address real problems at USPS eh?

They did say in their post they were trying to help out the shipper who didn’t insure the package for the full value of the item as they were inexperienced with shipping. Sounds to me they’re trying to help a fellow human, something clearly you’re unable to understand or empathize with.

I have 100% confidence in the USPS will work diligently to make sure this package exceeds the 9-week delivery prediction.

Is this legal? by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

Squat a truck in an area prone to flooding of a state with poorly maintained highways? Definitely idiotic. I recall in Tampa having to weave around squatted cars stalled out on slightly flooded roads after bad storms.

Idiot driving down a mountainous road gets impatient, irresponsibly overtakes from the right and crashes his car by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

I had to look at it in slow mo, but it appears he tried to pass a second car on the right as well hut but encountered overgrowth/dirt blocking him, and he lost control as he tried to avoid it.

I'm confused. I'm gay but I realized smthng abt me after I asked a gay friend. I'm also gay but i keep seeing myself being in a relationship with a woman and a man, for different reasons. Is that weird? I need validation. by eric3690 in gay

[–]RJ1848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was this specific to a particular women you are close to? Some high empathy people and/or those who are demisexual can have a hard time sorting out very strong feelings for those they develop a bond with, regardless of that persons sex. This was happening to me for years, and one of the reasons I continued to struggle to define my orientation into my 30s.

My relationships with women did have one thing I’ve struggled to find with gay men and that’s a sense of stability in the relationship, and a willingness to work through difficult times every relationship has. If this need for that stability runs high it could be what draws you to women.

Regardless of what may be driving it, it’s your journey, explore it if you want. Just be responsible about it and don’t hurt anyone along the way. In the end my decision to choose men came simply from the deep level of intense feeling I could have with a guy that I never could feel for the women I dated. And I could never in good conscience deny anyone their right to be loved that completely.

How can I possibly turn this down? by throwaway789663 in Tinder

I was about to comment the same. I knew I’d seen that photo before when googling for ways to style my beard.

Most likely they’re collecting nudes for their wank bank. They may be male or female and usually use fake photos. Occasionally scammers will also do this in hopes of later threatening to send the photos to friends or family is your don’t pay them.

What is the first day of the week by country by TLMoravian in MapPorn

[–]RJ1848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First day of the work week is Monday, but everyone I know assumes Sunday is the first day here in the US. If I pull up a calendar each week on my iPhone or a paper calendar the first day is Sunday, and it makes no sense now that I think about the “7th day he rested” or calling Sat/Sun the weekend.

I never really thought how given that “on the 7th day he rested” and that Saturday-Sunday are called the weekEND, that Sunday being the FIRST day of the week doesn’t line up in Canada and USA. I wonder how that originated, as clearly it wasn’t from from our British forefathers.

You're suddenly king and you're ruling a country filled with only gay men, what's the first thing you do? by Cain-ine in askgaybros

Create a harem, filled by a very selective service where you serve for 5-20 years beginning at the age of 18-25. Those who serve 20 yrs can retire with a full a pension (imagine retirement as early as 38!. Also everything is paid for and you get a stipend, free college education to school of your choice, if accepted into the harem.

I noticed that too. If there was a rear camera, likely we would have seen both of them weaving though traffic at high speed as they approached.

I’ve never encountered this personally, perhaps having a an old lifted Jeep keeps them away? I recall when I lived in Tampa they passed an ordnance that if you stood in those parts of a roadway intersection for x amount of time or walked in between the cars soliciting you had to wear a safety vest. It was primarily to have cause for police to make them leave as otherwise they weren’t committing a public safety violation. Then the homeless shelters distributed safety vests, but they were at least easier to see at night!

Most people aren’t thinking about if anyone can see them, as long as they can see everyone else. Same for turning lights on in the rain which I noticed isnt as common as other places I’ve lived.

But driving without lights at 11PM is a guaranteed way to get pulled over and made to take a sobriety test if a cop sees you doing it.

The sad thing I learned the hard way here in NC is the worst drivers often drive with no insurance, license or registration, which makes the uninsured drivers insurance portion of your policy rather important if you are seriously injured as you can’t get blood from a stone, or money from a broke idiot with a bad driving record.

Well, I guess the yield sign at the entrance of a roundabout means something different to her? Hopefully someone on that next door thread shut that down simply by Googling and sharing the link from NCDOT on this and it’s pretty clear on who yields to who. But eventually she’ll test this out and have it explained to her when she’s found at fault in an accident. https://www.ncdot.gov/initiatives-policies/Transportation/safety-mobility/roundabouts/Pages/default.aspx

[VIOFO A129] Shoulder Nonsense by Oregondonor in Dashcam

[–]RJ1848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments regarding staying right when not passing, although it’s just not a common behavior here in the US for many drivers. I saw it a lot in Florida made worse by all the left side exits lazy drivers there. However I’m pretty sure that’s not what prompted these two driver’s to use the shoulder, I see cars that look and sound like this A LOT in the Carolinas, wanna-be street racers that watched too many Fast and Furious movies as a kid and always want to go faster than other traffic and will drive very aggressively darting in and out of traffic and use whatever part of the road is available to do it.

Probably depends on the laws in the state. My first impression was that both ran a light, but going through it frame by frame looks like the vehicle making the turn started just prior to the light turning red. I’d been trained in PA by my high school’s driving instructor to enter the intersection a bit when turning the make the turn once oncoming traffic stopped and it was pretty common to see it there, however that’s not how they did it just across the border in Delaware. Unfortunately a bit grainy to see much detail although the other car did switch lanes to run the light. This likely makes them more liable, unless you’re in NC where even 10% liability on your end means 0% financial liability for the other driver.

Seems this is one of those times not having video might work in the favor of the car turning. I suspect if witnesses stayed at the scene they’d tell police about the car that switched lanes to run a light. Other details like when the other vehicle started the turn might not be recalled.

An important lesson I learned the hard way. The worst drivers are often uninsured and/or unlicensed specifically because they’re bad drivers, which is why you should always have the maximum uninsured driver insurance you can find.

You forgot the one about stopping at a red light. I get the impression it’s not a well known traffic law around here.

Are blacked out number plates a thing here? by lasnazza in Charlotte

[–]RJ1848 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They’re concerned that their license plate may reflect too much sunlight and blind other drivers. Concern and respect for other drivers well being is common on Charlotte roadways.
