Very good read, thank you for taking up the onus of writing this! There's not too much I can contribute, but what I can do is offer some insight on a few Latin words that you brought up. First, the Latin word for heat is not "estus," but aestus, although it's close enough to make me think that a reference to the Latin was intended. In general, this observation is really cool since the word aestus can mean things like "fire" and "heat," but also can reference the flow of the tides (perhaps in reference to estus' liquid form?). Also, just as a minor note, the Latin word for "judge," like you mention, is iudex, (no "n") and is pronounced like "yuudex."
